Galaxy Express 999: Tv Series Collection 1

This is "Collection 1" of what will eventually be 3 collections. Contains episodes 1 thru 39.VIDEO: An upscale from 480p, not a 1080p scan of the 16mm film. However, Toei Animation (the creator), will not ever put in that kind of effort. As such, this release is as good as Discotek Media (a licensee and distributor) could possibly make it. Rather than go the easy route and just sell the upscale Toei already sells in Japan, Discotek made sure to get the source 480p footage from Toei to upscale themselves. Why was that necessary? Becuz Toei's upscale blurrd out the grain in an attempt to (for some odd reason) make the show look as tho it was made on a computer rather than hand-drawn and printed on film.AUDIO: Not sourced from the master audio tapes (those were recorded over), but the optical audio taken from the film is at least not terrible sounding. While not ideal, this is audio is the best Toei has in its vaults. Also, like I said, it sounds good.ENGLISH AUDIO: No English dub exists of the TV animé's episodes. However, two of the TV-specials DO have English dubs (made by Harmony Gold), and if fans can get those long-lost dubs into the hands of Discotek, they will gladly include those in one of the collections.SUBTITLES: The subtitles that Toei had created for streaming this show on their website over a decade ago have been cleaned up by a new translator thanks to Discotek. An other unnecessary (but appreciated) step by them to make this release as good as possible.

The image quality is ok; they did a nice job in enhancing the resolution compared to what is available for free on Tubi, however, there is no clean-up of dust and scratches. The most annoying aspect though is that on every image cut there is a vertical jump (I suspect this is a problem with the source material as the Tubi version also had this issue). I almost returned the discs, but the stories are just so amazingly good.

I loved this show then out of no where I saw this although it’s not the best quality but u can’t really blame them I am really looking forward to the other volumes because there putting the fox tv dubs that only aired 1 so look out for that

a majestic anime ruined by the HORRIBLE ARTIFICIAL GRAINS that DISCOTEK INTENDEDLY INSERTED !! THIS IS AN ANIME TV SERIES FROM 1979 !! NOT A MOVIE !!!!for the purists of this anime I highly recommend the Japanese version in Blu ray even if in SD it proves to be much better than the discotek version defaced by an absurd amount of artificial grains

The case is garbage though, the middle plastic inlay holds the discs in a death grip. Take them out carefully and never put them back again.

劇場版の哲郎の顔も悪くありませんが、やはり、原作漫画で馴染んだこっちの顔の方が、銀河鉄道999には合っているような気がします。このTVシリーズのNo.1は、BD3枚組で、TV放映の1話から39話までが入っています。No2、No3が出たら、買いそびれないようにしないといけません。なお、2020年1月現在のBDは、日本製の再生機でも普通に再生できるようです。

画質が修正されてないので汚れ等が目立ちますが昔テレビで見たときに比べて段違いに良くなってると思います。国リージョンもなく問題なく再生でき価格も安いのでおすすめです残りの話数すべて発売されることを願います。海外品のため届きましたらディスクの傷がないかすべて確認しましょう私が初めに買ったのはディスク1に傷があり映像が飛ぶ部分が数箇所ありましたので交換していただきました交換、返品可能なところから購入しましょう。

レーザーディスクボックスを持っているのですがハードが壊れてしまったので手軽に見たいと思いこのブルーレイソフトを購入しました。普通に日本のブルーレイプレーヤーで見ることができます。ですが、今の地上波デジタル放送から比べると画像はとても素晴らしいとは言えません。当時の放送（1979年）のようだとイメージしてください。また、このシリーズの2、3と欲しいのですが、まだ発売されていないようなので（発売する気があるのか？わかりません）待っている状況です。全シリーズ発売されてから購入する方が良いかも知れませんね。

私にとって999の決定版と言えば永い間劇場版1作目であった。大スクリーンでの鑑賞に耐え得る完成度の高い動画として最も印象深い作品であった。VHS DVD Bluray とパッケージが新しくなる度に購入したものである。それだけに鑑賞回数も群を抜き　対するTVシリーズはON AIR当時家庭用VTRが普及しておらずリアルタイムで見たのみとなりその後40年余り見直す機会も得られず印象は薄れて行った。そこにこのBlurayである。早速の購入となったがこれがまさかの目から鱗の経験をした。２時間8分で２人の出会いから別れまでを一気に描く劇場版に対しTVスペシャル３本を含む計116話を費やし２人の絆の深まる様をきめ細かく描いたTVシリーズには脱帽である。国内版Blurayの大変結構な御値段にも脱帽し購入を諦めていた時にまさかのUSヴァージョンである。迷いは無かった。生涯の宝と出会えた幸運に感謝。　鉄郎　メーテル　車掌さんよ　永遠なれ。

国内版の中古をフリマサイトで購入しようと考えていたところ、同じ価格で新品が手に入るのを知り、即購入しました。購入した時間にもよりますが、購入したその日に到着したので、余計に驚きました。到着した商品を見るとビックリ。3枚組ながらも一般のDVDと変わらない薄さ！かさばらないので尚、気に入りました。ストーリー自体は、小学生の頃からリアルで観ていたので、言うまでもありません。好きでなければ買いませんよね。国内版の高額な商品に比べて、この商品は収録されている内容も39話と倍くらいになります。画質や音質などを気にしない方や、dアニメとかで視聴している方もお手元に置いておきたい商品です。永遠に語り続けていきたい名作をお子様にも観ていただきたいので、皆さんも購入してください。今のところ、1〜39話までのvol.1のみの発売中です。vol.2、vol.3の発売には皆さんの力が必要なので、ステイホームで自宅にいる時間が多く、購入を悩んでる方は、是非購入して皆さんで家庭で楽しみましょう。
