Unique and Colorful
The illustrations are fantastic and the inspiration and stories behind them makes it worth the price. If your a fan of Vofan, this book is a good addition to a collection.

Stunning and Instructional
Purchased this for my daughter who loves the artist and has also hit a block with her own art. All the illustrations are incredible, but it's especially meaningful to see growth and style develop as the drawings go on. A beautiful book to browse through, but also a low-key fantastic resource for the progressing artist or animator.

“What do you think about when you’re waiting for the bus?”
Colorful Dreams, first released in Taiwan in 2006, brings the first localization of Vofan’s art work overseas.Vofan, most notable for the cover illustrations of the Monogatari light novel series, has composed Colorful Dreams with short stories consisting of every day life accompanied by his gorgeous works that make the flow of the entire book seamless, even though the stories are unrelated. It also contains some photos that he’s taken that enrich each story, whether the photo inspired them or not. The book concludes with an interesting interview with Vofan and also an updated message now that this book has been published overseas.Overall, I’m really happy that we’re finally seeing his works getting published internationally. Here’s to hopefully getting the rest of Colorful Dreams being localized!

Great Art
Before you buy, it’s good to note this isn’t a traditional “art book” but instead short 4 stories told through VOFAN’s illustrations and a few lines of text for each story, accompanied by VOFAN’s thoughts for each story on a 5th page. There’s about 14 of these and some interviews with VOFAN. The art is wonderful and the stories are cute, and you can definitely see his passion throughout so if you’re a fan of VOFAN you’ll enjoy Colorful Dreams.

i love it
as a mistake, i searched in amazon "Monogatari series artwork", and since the girl in the cover looks like shinobu i bought it, obviously not a monogatary artbook, but i love it, Vofan is just the best, i will get more of his works in the future.

Pricy but fascinating artworks.
This is a nice read. It's quite interesting to know that Vofan stepped into the anime world of art.

Mediocre presentation of work by a talented Artist
Producing covers for various manga, Vofan has become well know for his cold and colorful illustrations. Colorful Dreams, an art book of sorts collects short stories and works the creator produced on his own or early in his career. I wanted to like this book but found the artwork unappealing compared to the artist’s usual work, and the stories uninteresting. I was equally bummed in Vertical’s cheap preeentation. An American graphic novel sized book presented on flimsy high gloss paper making the work hard to see. Overall I was disappointed in the work and presentation. I couldn’t recommend.

Bonito
