Loved this it’s a fantastic addition to the man cave

I posted some photos and on them you can see how desirable the overall quality is. There are many imperfections and avoidable mistakes.I polished all the helmet and cleaned everything I could, and even though there are many things that can be seen in the pictures that are imperfections made during the manufacturing of the piece. But please remember that for this price these were more than expected. I am happy in general with what I got for the price I paid, but most of my content is due to the fact that I was expecting the imperfections already, mostly because I read other reviews.It is a beautifull decoration for your house. Most of your guests are not going to care about the imperfections and are going to be surprised about you having a decurion helmet in your living room. It is a really good conversation starter and you can always wear it and feel like a roman soldier.Details about the piece:1- It comes completely soaked in oil because it is what protects the metal from rust. You need to clean the excess and give it a new coat of oil from time to time.2- I would recomend cleaning the dust AT LEAST every week, because it can damage the metal and leave marks (more) on it. But remember that you'll be taking some of the oil out on every cleaning.3- The leather stripes are not attached to the sides and don't have any kind of protection, so it hurts a bit when wearing. Also the tip will hang after buckling it up because there is no extra strap to hold it in place.4- The leather piece inside that keeps your head from touching the metal is glued, not riveted, but it serves its purpose.5- The strings that hold the top piece together are simply shoelaces that were cutted. You can see it easily in the picture. I would recommend substituting it.6- The red "brush" on top is a simple plastic red brush. The same used for those cheap brooms that are sold in every supermarket. Also the whole things is the worst part from everything, the metal is totaly crooked and bended, there is an inner wooden part that can easily be seen, and its holder doesn't fit properly the golden part that is attached to the helmet, so you need to use a little strenght there, risking to damage something doing it.7- The metal used is NOT flimsy or thin, so I don't believe you can bend it easily or leave a dent. You need a lot to actually danage it. But be careful with scratches, because they will be visible.In general, again, I am happy with it and would recommend other people to buy, but be aware that you get what you pay for, so if you buy this product expecting a professional armorsmith to forge a detailed and mistakenless roman helmet specificly for you, you better rething your decisions.

I thought this looked pretty cool but when it arrived it was shocking. The "steel" bends, warps, and it arrived dented and broken. The pin for the cheekplate fell out and was bent, it was so soft I could bend it by hand. The tie to tie the plume was an old shoelace, the plume is made of old broom bristles. Avoid at all costs! They refuse to refund me, then offer me half, then try to tell me they've refunded me when they haven't. They're con merchants and have been reported to Amazon.
