Lasted 1.5 seasons, then it stopped taking a charge.
Lasted 1.5 seasons, then it stopped taking a charge, now its useless. I paid more for this "max" version thinking it would be more powerful. I didn't notice much difference than the standard version, other than it died on me in less than 2 seasons.Update: I called WaterTech and they told me this model has been updated to a new switch and motor box battery design. See the attached pic of what I found when I opened the casing on my failed unit. Its obvious that water leaked in through the poorly designed "twist to turn on" knob, which explains why the had to change the design. In my opinion this design should have been recalled.

This is a substandard product. I purchased this product one year ago in June 2016 with a one year warranty. I was hesitant after reading some of the negative comments about the customer support but decided to take a chance. I purchase regularly from Amazon and have never had a bad outcome with any product or issue. The pool blaster quit working the first of August 2017. It wouldn't turn on when the switch was turned. I checked the charge and the light was green which indicated it was charged (according to the manual) but when the piece that screws in to turn it on was fulling screwed in, nothing turned on. The connections were making contact but still not working. I cleaned the piece, double checked everything and tried several more times and still nothing. I contacted the company and they first offered to replace the product at TWICE the cost of what I initially paid then offered to repair the product with a "new and improved battery and switch" at more than half of what I paid. I explained my initial hesitation with purchasing this product and that the reviews on the company support were not good and that this situation was exactly my concern. I also explained that I had followed the directions exactly as to care and storage and that the product was only used maybe 2 to 3 months. It was purchased in June and put away for winter in September according to their directions. I asked for replacement, at the least, knowing I would not receive a refund. She offered to have someone call me which has never happened. No response since from my emails. These reviews are here for a reason.

2 seasons use and no response from customer service
Initially we purchased this device to clean our in- ground hot tub and touch up spots in the pool. We have an automatic Polaris vacuum that runs in the pool but sometimes the attached hose gets tangled and can be a pain to deal with. When we initially got this device, it was a dream come true. It performed exactly as expected for the hot tub. The battery held a nice charge and the vacuum strength was perfect. I also used it for the pool and found it to be a quick and easy way to get the spots missed by the Polaris vacuum. Over time, the battery charge started to get shorter and shorter. We just opened the pool this year. I attempted to charge the unit and nothing. It won’t even start up, even though the charge indicator light on the charger says its working. I attempted to email their customer support several times, no response. I called but no one answered, so I left a message. No response. I’m certainly disappointed the device stopped working. I am more disappointed that I have not received any feedback from their customer support team. I really like the unit overall but they definitely have some QA issues with the product longevity and customer service response. The unfortunate reality is I’m not sure if there are other products in the marketplace that compete with this product. So I’ll probably buy another one and end up dealing with the same issues in couple years time. In the end, my recommendation would be to purchase the product if you want a battery charged wireless vacuum that will give 1-2 seasons of solid use.

Works, until the warranty runs out (12-14 months)
I purchased the Max CG after having my original Pool Blaster die 13 months into ownership. The CG (commercial grade) lasted 15 months (with many of those months being unused). I followed the manual perfectly, including adding the special grease around the pool switch after use. It did not leak. But at 15 months, I opened turned the unit off after use and smoke started coming out the cap which so carefully gets greased. The smoke smelled of electrical failure. After trying the Water Tech units TWICE in under 3 years, I am done. When it worked, it worked fine. But two units failing just after the warranty expires means this is JUNK -- whether it is the CG unit or not.
