Maybe a tad too agressive for my taste, but it does the trick very well.

Good for basic knives
Keeps my knives honed a bit longer between actual whetstone sharpening I do a couple times a year. Use this on a set of cheapy IKEA knives and have gotten a bit better performance/mileage out of them. Fun to use on cheap knives as it allows you to practice without much consequence. I don't know enough about knives to determine if this is a good rod for higher end knives..maybe a ceramic rod may work better.
