Great if you’re an Overwatch fan, good if you’re not.
I tried to read this novel room the perspective of someone who isn’t a devoted fan of overwatch, and I failed pretty hard. The book is filled with little hints and Easter eggs that will bring a smile to your face if your know the games lore, but won’t distract you if you don’t.I’m surprised at how compelling a character Efi was, and how adorable Drayden managed to make Orisa. I found myself more invested in this story than I thought I would be, and rooting for them even after their many blunders. If I have any complaints it’s that the more heavy handed of the game references can feel forced. Overwatch players love their voice lines, so I expected to see some integrated into the dialogue. This was done very well with Orisa. However, with characters like Lucio and Doomfist, it was pretty cringy. Also when a few the game’s abilities were used, there wasn’t much edit into describing how they worked or even how they looked. I imagine if I didn’t already have inside knowledge, I could have easily been confused.Overall, it’s a great read if you’re an Overwatch fan, and still pretty fun ifIf you’re not.

Lore and fun writing style!
I already love playing the game on the PS4. I thought Orisa was already adorable. But after reading through Efi and Orisa's adventures, there's a lot more than I thought! There are many struggles young Efi has to face as a genius 12-year-old. Plus, there's a fair amount of lore that is in the book that isn't in the game! Honestly, I want more of these books by this author! Her writing style is so fun! I can't help but smile with the characters, or cringe with them, or feel crushed along with them as if I am them or am standing next to them. If I make faces with the book, it isn't boring at all.

Nice read
Really fun book to read. Spent a total of around 6 hours binge reading this book. Cool lore around Orisa and her upcoming in Numbani as a guardian. Has several characters from the overwatch universe such as Lucio and doomfist as well as brief mentions of other characters. I'd say it's worth the 10$ if you're into overwatch lore.

Amazing start to the Overwatch series
The Hero of Numbani is the first novel in the Overwatch series. It's a YA story that explores the origin story of Orisa, one of the heroes you can play in the popular Overwatch video game created by Blizzard Entertainment. It's YA, but written so that is it enjoyable as an adult as well. Nicky Drayden was the perfect tap to author this story. Her software analyst background lent her the ability to spin the best angle for 11 year old robotacist Efi to repurpose an OR15 in order to be a proper defense against Doomfist as well as protector of Numbani.I absolutely loved this book as well as the writing style of Nicky. I can't wait to explore her other works.

Our little las and big robot went into book form quite nice
When going into something that is based of another medium (movie from a book, book from a tv series, game from a movie) you always worry about if the new medium will mess up all the pre established lore, and I am glad to say this did not do that. All the pre established lore that mattered was put in nice, and it was a nice way of getting into Efi's head and some action between Orisa and some talon baddies. All in all quite a nice edition to Overwatch lore (now do some for Zen!)

There’s a Hero in Us All
Fantastic story. First time reading it and gotta say, love everything about Efi, Orisa, and all their friends and family. It’s truly inspiring and hope to read more like it in the future. Peace out!

Efi and Orisa's Journey Is Worth a Read
This book is a wonderful first attempt at a novel and with the focus being on one of my favorite tanks as well. It was quite the ride with Efi as she tried everything in her power to protect those that she loved and sacrificed so much.Orisa finally going online was the moment I was waiting for and she had a lot of ups and downs as well trying to learn to work out her programming. It's a journey that doesn't disappoint and you should definitely check it out if you're a fan of the lore.

Great Lore
Great story. Very readable and vivid. I loved the attention to detail for Nigerian culture and how true to the game it was. A must read for any OW lore buffs.

Imersivo e bem escrito!
