Pimp your ride..i added grip used for metal bats and glow in dark pin striped ... threads do not slide like plastic which releases charge when you go from plastic thread cap to metal base the threads on plastic get worn in... so once u go metal 2 metal yes 1st couple times you are will experience these thread mismatches if u try to go back to plastic the threads will not match metal to metal especially under pressure.... like a break in period....keep on .... the new metal to metal will mate and operation will smooth out... once u go metal 2 metal threads... plastic to metal etc. ...u will experience same thing... metal 2 metal is tighter thread lock.... plastic will groove and miss thread. . Once u go metal u don't go back... same principal in any situation or application with threads....u want plastic lug nuts on your car.... why ? Exactly how about motorcycle. Boat... your kid s bike.... think about it... Google it.. research there's no comparison ...

Solid Product, Great Cust Svc; not for ISI
I was given an ISI pre-1996 Siphon Sodamaker with no charger holder. Ugh. I guess this is common, because a bunch of ads on e b a y also are missing charger holders.Amazon with its smart product advertising suggested this product. But I didn't read the print: "Not compatible with ISI." My fault. I thought all these seltzer bottles and whipped cream dispensers used the same charger holders to hold the same 8gm CO2 cartridges. Nope.So I'm returning. But 5 stars because this looks solid, looks nice, and the company tried to help me find a better size.

Much superior to the original equipment
This is what should have come with the whipped cream maker I purchased. I looked at a lot of models, but almost none of them featured a metal holder for the CO 2 cartridges. Mine cracked after a year and I couldn't figure out a repair. I despaired, thinking I'd have to re-order the same Whip It, but then I found this device, ordered it, and it's marvelous. Fits exactly, functions perfectly, and is less than $10.I just wish I'd known about this tendency or been given an option with this feature. There is a tiny hole in the flat (closed) end, but I haven't exactly figured out its purpose yet. I suppose it's a safety valve, in case the CO 2 escapes into the area and might lead to rupture of the cylinder. I don't think my plastic one had that, though it was ruined beyond recognition so I can't check.Anyway, this is a very excellent investment.

Great charger holder
Great replacement for the not so good plastic one that comes with the can.

Rough threads - grinding sounds and difficult turning when used on ICO Dispenser.
The threads in this are roughly cut -- so rather than smooth and easy turning, you get a rough, grinding feeling when you twist on a new cartridge. This just seems like a poorly machined part. This was used on an ICO dispenser, so it is not like they were mis-matched. I went back to using the plastic holder before this metal holder ruined the treads on my dispenser. The plastic holder rotates smoothly on the dispenser threads, and is easier to turn, both because of the better treading and also because the shape of this replacement metal holder was uncomfortable. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

It's not a solid piece of alluminum.
It is 2 parts that thread together with some pretty poor quality threads, works fine though. The threads that go on the dispenser are much better and thread cleanly on my cheap ico dispenser. Just keep an eye on this piece if you are cracking multiple chargers as the janky left hand thread likes to spin out and not fully puncture the cartridge.

This one is the way to go 😀
The Plastic ones brake Easley so Make sure you buy one that going to last more than 1 Day. After 1 day of use I had to order a new one because the plastic one broke in no time. So I ordered this one and I'm definitely Happy with my Purchase ☺️
