I used these rods in my niece's tiered wedding cake and they worked perfectly. The cake never moved or slid. I cut the rods to size with a pvc cutter (not included). After so much work on the cake, I was happy to have a sturdy rod to hold it in place.

These are extremely sturdy and durable! I have used these to support three and four tier cakes with no issue. They can easily be cut to size by scoring them with scissors and cracking them along the score line. Excellent value as well!

Use these to support a layer cake I was baking that had a second tier on it. Never made a multi tiered cake before, so I researched and found that using these dowels would keep the top tier from crushing into the bottom tier. The best part about these as I was able to easily cut them to the exact height that I needed since it would be different every time based on the height of the bottom tier of your cake. I saw these in wood also, but wanted these plastic ones because I knew I could wash them and then easily cut them with just a serrated knife. The pack came with plenty for me to use in the future and the price was very reasonable.

These straws are very thick and sturdy which also makes them very difficult to cut (or I don't have the proper cutting tool for the job). These kept my 5 tier cake up with no hint of a wobble, but be prepared with good scissors to cut to the proper length.

These are a bit pricey but will definitely hold up cake layers! These will not buckle on you under the weight of cake tiers on top.

I bought these out of desperation because I couldn’t get my normal plastic dowel in on time for a wedding cake. I’m switching forever. These are very stiff & sturdy plastic; I was worried they would be hard to cut. I use a dowel cutter & it went through like butter. I just twisted one rotation to score, and another to cut through cleanly (and super straight).

These are great, sturdy cake dowels. They're tough to cut. But to be honest I haven't found ones that really aren't. I am sure you wouldn't have such a sturdy support if they were easier to cut. I bought small pvc pipe cutters that are no bigger than scissors and it worked perfectly.

PERFECT! I used to stack a 5 tier cake and they worked perfectly! I read other reviews saying they were too hard to cut with scissors so I used a tiny handsaw and some sandpaper to sand them down but then I went ahead and tried scissors and with enough force they were cut. They held up perfectly with no issues at all! Once I got down to the bottom of the cake for cutting they were still perfectly intact. The cake was up for over 6 hours.
