Solid ideas
Over the summer I was introduced to the concepts of the responsive classroom. The class was very inspirational and I am going to take the second class as soon as I can. The math lessons in here are wonderful but if you teach the higher grades, 5th and/or 6th you will have to modify the information in order to make it worth your money. I have made some of those modifications and tried it out with my 6th grade kids. They asked to play the game again which tells you that the basis of the book, on how to present math, is a good one. I would have given it a 5 if they indeed address the need of older elementary children, as it is I believe the book is only really worth the cost for kindergarten thru 4th grade.

Teriffic!
Love the ideas in this book; easy to set up and implement, creative, and fun for kids. A lot of variety and helps kids to think about math in a lot of different ways.

Morning meeting
Great to use with morning meeting. I love how it gives various grade levels so if you change grades, have a higher/lower class you can adapt and modify quickly and easily.

Better for the younger ones
The activities didn't match my older students' socio-emotional levels. It was a bit too geared for the younger set. Would like 5th and 6th to have some math integration and a challenging set of activities. It was what was advertised so for the lower grades, I would recommend it. 5th and up, not so much.

More ideas than any one teacher can need
This book was recommended to me as a resource that will ensure children get the opportunity to do more mental maths in a fun way on a day to day basis. As a maths advisor this resource is absolutely perfect to use with teachers, schools and when working with groups of children. A must have for an primary class teacher.

Quick ideas
Although this is an American book, the ideas cross the Atlantic and provide clear ideas on what could be done to extend children's understanding.

Not so great
Not as helpful as I thought it would be, lots of ideas rather than straightforward questions that I was hoping to have on the board for when the children came in.
