I purchased this booklet so I could more easily understand how to use Smart-Home devices with Alexa, which is touched upon in Chapter 11. Unfortunately, for me, anyway, there was not really enough information on doing so. I think it may be mostly my problem, as it seems many younger folks fink it less difficult. I think photographs or illustrations would benefit me more than simply text. At any rate, I'm not going to penalize the author, since I think most of the issue lies with me as a student, not with the author as teacher.However, I did find some issues with editing. On page 86 the word chose is used where choose appears to be more proper. Also, at least occasionally, minor errors are noted (a plural where singular would be correct. Mind you, this 84 page booklet is not badly edited, but it could use a once-over to clean it up.Having stated that, it is definitely useful for the new Amazon Dot purchaser.BOTTOM LINEFour stars out of five.I am striving to produce reviews that help you find books that you want, or avoid books that you wish to avoid. Lots of stuff to do with my new Dots. The device has a lot of features, so finding them all would be difficult without advice. It took me two short evenings to read it all and the day between to impliment the most interesting.I think I'm good on where Alexa stashes her help and suggestion ideas, so I don't expect to go back to it often. $2.50 is a small price to pay to avoid some pain in finding your way around.

Written in a no nonsense style, this book gives you a detailed overview of the Amazon Echo Dot. It's a very good book to have to learn how to program and use the device.

It didn't give the basics of how to do things - like how to add your name to A function ex: Good Morning Donna & how to save it. Basically useless for me.

Takes an absolute beginner from start to competent in an easily read and accessible format. Could probably find the information elsewhere but would take longer.
