Not Plug & Play nor Mac Native
If one is looking for a plug & play simple clicker this ain't it. The plug contains a circuit board that apparently is programmable firmware. Before one can use with any OS it must be initialized and configured using primitive software downloaded from a website. And even then one must set-up the device on a Windows computer before attaching it to a Mac or other OS. Unless your power user brother was in IT during the early years of Windows like me, he's not gonna be happy with the Chinesium user interface. Hint: you must initialize the device. It is built solid, all metal but the USB cord comes out on the non-hinge end. Soles of shoes or boots may abrade the strain relief and cord over time. The color choices are stick-on vinyl, so buy whatever color is cheapest because the item itself is black.

Almost perfect! Improved my game play greatly. Just needs a tweak or two!
I ordered this with some degree of hesitation since it was basically an unknown with only one review. It met most of my expectations and I am glad I got it. I play Battlefield V and needed a food pedal that could help me switch firing modes in BF5. I am mildly handicapped with serious back issues and also have trouble with my hands so I need to be able to use everything I can easily do while gaming to get all the performance out of myself that is possible. This foot pedal fit the bill and it is built like a tank. I was surprised at the weight of it when getting it out of the box. It is boxed rather in an unassuming package and was simple to plug in to my Windows 10 system which saw the device as a keyboard immediately. The utility that is advertised to download to program the switch was easy enough to download, but I ran into some troubles when trying to get the program to connect to the switch. I've seen this kind of thing before so I went to the program binary and set it to run in administrator mode and that immediately fixed the issue of programming the switch. All in all, nothing I didn't expect to see and easily handled. Switch now programmed, I launched Battlefield 5 and began a test session to see how the switch worked. It ran perfectly... save for one small issue. The problem is that the force needed to depress the switch is excessive. I had to literally press hard to get it to switch. I plan to disassemble the unit at some point in the future to replace the springs with less stiff ones to make this easier to depress. The manufacturer should take heed and make a change to the switch spring return s or add a adjustment to allow the owner to set the sensitivity by whatever means. All in all, a good purchase, and given that I won't be repeatedly stabbing at the pedal with my foot except to switch weapons modes in BF5, I think it's a great setup. I will amend this review when I replace the springs and add photos to show the innards of the switch. If the manufacturer wanted to have me test a modified and more sensitive version of the pedal, I would be open to it. I think they have a great product here that ALMOST hits it out of the park but just misses perfection. My test game-play was greatly impacted by this switch so I still give it a 5 our 5 because it's the best switch I've been able to find out there for this purpose. I hope the manufacturer is watching these reviews because I think these observations are valid and would improve the product greatly. On to gaming with it!

Easy to install and program
My first review on this was concerning not being able to program the footpedal. On my mistake, I couldn't see the whole desktop as I had a window open on the side, exactly where the program was placed that the MSI file installed. There was no notification or instruction stating that the file would be installed directly on the desktop. The instructions are a bit lacking on that part. Once I found the file, programming was a breeze.

Rugged and reliable!
As they said, it can only be set up with software that runs on Windows. After setting it up, the pedal acts as a USB keyboard (with one key), so it is compatible with anything that uses a USB keyboard. I set it up as alt-tab, to switch between apps. It has been working great for a month or 2 so far.

Broken out of the box
Bought to use as a push to talk for gaming. After installing the software the key either wouldn't activate or it would go continuously. After determining it wasn't a software issue I pulled the pedal apart to find that the switch lever was not adjusted correctly and was being held down by the top plate. As i tried to adjust the lever the lever plate broke off completely as it was barely held in by the tips of the rivets. Eventually I managed to get the lever adjusted correctly (2 pairs of pliers work nicely) and reattached the lever plate with some double sided tape (we'll see if it holds I may have to replace the rivets). All in all the software works and was easy to use but the build quality is terrible. The only positive I have to say is that the body is solidly built and has a lot of weight to it (You could probably press it by running it over and it'd still be fine) but that's worth much if the components inside break at the slightest persuasion or are already broken. All in all I wont be returning this product, since I've already opened it and cant be bothered shipping it back, I'll just have to hope my makeshift repairs hold together better than the crap they put in this to begin with.

Keeps losing it's push-to-talk setting
The construction is good. It's solid metal and feels like it won't just fall apart like the last plastic one I had. However, it keeps losing its setting for whether a press-and-hold should make a down-up keystroke or should hold down. I am using it for push to talk, so it's really important than when I hold it down, it stays down. The setting tends to revert, though, with no warning given to me. I only realize there is a problem when people tell me that my voice keeps clipping out. At that point I have to switch back to using the keyboard until I have time again to fuss with the pedal's proprietary software.I'm torn between 1 and 2 stars. If you get it for something like page turning, then it will work okay. If you get it for push to talk, the software problems make it not worth the hassle. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known about these problems. I'm calling it 2 stars since it is technically functional, so it's not quite the bottom of the quality barrel.

Gets the job done!
I've had this for a few weeks, gets the job done. I wasn't the biggest fan of downloading drivers from such an untrusted source, but that's how it goes with these products.Nevertheless yeah, not much to say here, this is overall positive. It works, it does it's job!
