Nice board, the felt is great and if you've never purchased a backgammon board before you want this vs a wooden board because the sound of dice landing may drive you crazy.The overall craftmanship is a B/B-. For example, some of the pieces have lumps/bubbles and the doubling cube is tiny. But as a gift for the holidays that kids or adults can have fun playing and not worry about damaging a family heirloom this is perfect.

Long-time player of the game, but relatively new *obsessive* thanks to COVID!I looked for a ‘tournament size’ backgammon board shortly after my obsession took root in or around April 2020, sheltering in place.This set is a stunner, both for its deep green board, but also the lovely points, which are embedded in the surface. Quiet throws of the dice, and the checkers look like HUGE Jolly Ranchers that would absolutely destroy your teeth. They’re marbled in appearance and very nicely sized at a sputz under 1.5 inches (36mm). The exterior construction is solid. You’d have to bash this thing around in your trunk for weeks to do any damage.I’m sure the interior felt could become inundated with dust and crumbs, etc., but a quick blowout would clear that right up.This board would pass inspection at any local backgammon club, in any city. Quibble with the dice of you will. I’d say buy with confidence. I added my own huge vintage doubling cube, and precision dice, but the cups that come with this set are completely fine and have a nice tone.

I ordered this backgammon board because I wanted a tournament size board instead of the Crisloid Champion board that I bought used at an antique show years ago. The size of this board was good, larger than the Crisloid and the bed appeared to be good. The checkers with this set were the exact same size at the Crisloid. The dice and doubling cube, both smaller. The dice cups were very short with no trip lip inside. I was very, very disapointed. I will be returning this set and will problably not buy another from Amazon.

Shocked by the lack of quality for this set given the price. Pieces don't even fit in one of the holders. See photos. Really disappointed. It's definitely going back. Not recommended.
