Q: full berries or halves?

They're whole berries, just freeze dried. Be careful of seed-it makes up most of the berry.

Q: Do these need to be refrigerated? How long do they store for? And how potent is the effect compared to the tabs? Is ome berry enough?

They're freeze-dried; OK at room temp. Box has expiry date on the bottom--one I bought in January is good until November. The effect is about the same as the tabs & the taste is much more fruity-natural & agreeable. One berry can make a lemon taste like lemon meringue pie. Effect lasts about 20 minutes. for me--varies from person to person.
