Great value for a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Works perfectly with Comcast Xfinity internet. No hassle online activation!
Excellent value, performance, and compatibility with Comcast Xfinity internet.I was beginning to have serious problems with my Motorola SB6121 cable modem (4x4). It could no longer establish more than 1 upstream channel and was logging continuous ranging retry errors for the other 3. It served me well for years but I decided it was time for a new modem. My service level is Performance which in my area is 25/5. I did not want to buy an expensive replacement. I found the TP LINK TC-7610 on Amazon and it looked perfect. A $40 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem on the Comcast approved retail purchase list! And I was not disappointed.I swapped the TC-7610 in place of the SB6121 without changing anything else on my network. All I did was power on the modem and wait for about 5 minutes while it established connectivity, installed some Comcast specific firmware (?), and then rebooted. After the modem lights where all on solid I was good to go.I opened the Edge browser under Windows 10 x64, entered a URL, and was taken to the Comcast online activation page. You have the option of entering an account number and phone number. Or you can sign in using your Comcast online account name and password, which is what I did. After that the activation of the new modem was completed in a couple of steps and I was up and running with no need to call Comcast!Performance and stability has been excellent. The cable modem you receive in the frustration free packing is exactly the same as the retail box version, only cheaper. I am currently on a 30 day Prime free trial so I selected 2 day shipping, but I actually received it overnight. Plus it was delivered by an Amazon Flex driver.

Awesome price! Works with Xfinity blast teir!!! Yay
The great price IMMEDIATELY drew me in to this product. I was NOT looking forward to spending hundreds of dollars to update my stone age equipment. I read through several pages of these reviews before I made my purchase. There were a few bad reviews, but The MASSIVE amounts of 5 star reviews had me feeling confident. My biggest concern when looking for a modem was that it wasn't on Comcast's "approved hardware" list. Our old cable modem was over ten years old and couldn't handle the high speed. At that point, it was worth a shot because out of my available 150mbps download speed (from my internet service provider), I was only getting about 11mbps. Your available download speed may vary depending on your ISP. This does NOT produce a wifi signal. You will have to purchase a separate wireless router to go with it. I bought both the TP modem and router. I am finally enjoying my blast! Teir internet speeds. No more slow or spotty connections. Easy set up for even the least tech savvy person. Just plug in your power, coax, and Ethernet then call up your ISP to have them sync the MAC and SN with their signal. Took all of 10 minutes to set up from the time the package was delivered on my porch to the time I hung up with Comcast. We comfortably run 2 smart TVs, a game council, two cell phones, and a tablet with no issues. Dont let those 1star reveiws scare you. For the price, it is definitely worth a try. So go ahead and hit that "add to cart". Hope this helped your decision.

Used to to replace the combo from my ISP, works better & will pay for itself in months.
Wonderful product, but it's too light. If you have it on a shelf or table with the coax routed down behind it, it causes it to tip back since its so light.I wish they had tested it a bit more and maybe weighted the bottom-front somehow.Doesn't affect performance, though, and if I really cared I could wall-mount it or use the screw holes on the bottom to add a piece of wood. I think that maybe putting the coax port at the bottom or including a second base with an angle to it so it still fits flat could've fixed this.I bought this in conjunction with this: D-Link DIR-860L IEEE 802.11ac Wireless Router in order to ditch the Comcast one, and I'm happy to say it'll pay for itself in a few months.Using this, I've seen my downstream speed increase from 75 to 88 mbs on speedtest.net.There was minimal setup, the only issue was activating it with Comcast which went better than normal. You just have to call in or visit a website, it's in the manual.
