how can I mix the shellec? and could you please help me for the instructions to use it ?

You mix it with denatured alcohol, and it comes with mixing instructions...its very easy!!! I just mix it in a mason jar, you measure the flakes, put in the corresponding amount of the alcohol, and just swirl it around till it dissolves. It takes awhile, but its worth it. Its a beautiful finish!!

What is the 'shelf life' before mixing with denatured alcohol?

As long as its stored in a cool dry place, I believe it is pretty much unlimited.

Is this a dark colored shellac? Been using amber shellac but looking for something darker. Thanks

Yes, it is quite a bit darker than the amber, especially if you use a few coats. More dark reddish brown than the orangey color of the amber.

can i pigment it darker?

Try a small amount with an alcohol dye first.
