Works perfect for everyday use
I don't know why people say they had to modify this or it keeps collapsing on this. I would just say you have extremely weak strength if that is the case. Yes the extension is twist to lock in place, however if you put a little muscle behind it, it'll stay and never move. I have a little mercury it works perfect on. I live on my sailboat in a mooring field and it's used for my dinghy. So yes I do actually use it every day, Multiple times per day and never have to adjust it.

It works!
Just what I needed. I can sit and row, then reach up to switch to trolling motor without moving to stern seat to control.Works great. I complained to myself about the cost but I guess I owe it to myself...

Great product, easy to install and use.
The product was straight forward, simple and easy to use. Unfortunately the handle grip became loose on first use and it turned out to be a case of nearly no adhesive on holding in to the main part of the handle. This became problematic when trying to decrease speed. I had to apply a good second g of adhesive myself to fix it.

Good handle with modifications
The handle is pretty good. Like others the grip immediately came loose. Professional loctite super glue fixed this easily. The main problem is when throttling up and twisting left it loosens the telescoping twist lock and just spins. I'll post a pic of how I fixed it by drilling through the extended handle and installing a clevis pin. The other issue is it's held with rivets at the clamp end making it a bit flimsy. I may be drilling them out and installing bolts instead to tighten it up a bit

Flimsy plastic not fit to withstand any real-life situation.
After applying the ill- fitting device to my motor control, it became readily apparent that any more than 5 to 10 pounds of force applied in either direction would snap the cheaply made plastic armature this thing was crudely made to mimic. Placing this on the tiller of my motor and actually relying on it for purposes of actual seamanship would be catamount to suicide and assured disaster, both in terms of loss of property and loss of life. This is irresponsibility made, deceptively advertised, and obviously relies on the guilibity of a mail order sight unseen to be a profitable venture for the manufacturer. Not only am I dissatisfied, I'm insulted by the attempt to "play" in an area of such serious consequences where lives may be dependant on its ability to function correctly under even modest stress. It's not unfathomable to foresee a wrongful death lawsuit as the result of using this product.

First thoughts.
Tiller / motor guide just arrived. For the price I’m not upset at all. Product is as described. The telescope works easily and I haven’t had any issues with the handle coming off yet but I plan to add some grip tape to the handle anyways.

Nice handle
Nice, well made handle and the extension works smoothly. I just had to use a piece of cardboard for the reducer sleeve instead of the rubber one provided which was to thick for the grip on my outboard.
