This mylar package is quality. I believe 4 or 5 mills thick. These are sure to meet all your metalic Deep Storage needs.Some in reviews were cofounded as these bags are not zip lock closure.However unless one is either ignorant to mylar and or to lazy to search Youtube. A Crittical thinker should have no trouble sealing the bags shut.options include. Clothes Iron,wifes clam shell flat iron . These are the main ways of sealing thick mylar. We used the clam shell hair iron. Irons will not melt through thee mylar of this thickness .1 more suggestion for those who are corrosion fanatics .When it comes to your metal storage needs. I order from ZRUST.they have corriosion resistant products such as barrel tubing bags that can be an inner layer inside your mylar. And a plethora of other items such as pucks and cards one can place in 50 kal cans .The z rust products difuse an anti corrosion molecularly which resists corrosion for 2 years +. You get with the package silica packs and O2 obsorbers. I am using the O2 obsorbers for food storage .& The zrust bags & other product along woth vac sealing the bag . As well as a couple silica pack/moisture absorber . Redundancy is my freind .God Bless

This kit is great! These bags will fit nearly all standard rifles, unless you have large optics + pistol grips, then they are not "tall" enough. If you can take your optics off easily, or are willing to, then it should be no problem getting your "items" to fit. The plastic is very thick, and is easily sealed with an iron. If you use a standard "foodsaver" vacuum sealer, you will have to cycle to "seal" function more than once (I recommend 3 times). It will NOT vacuum seal though, because the aforementioned sealer can't pull a vacuum on anything other than the foodsaver or ziploc brand bags. You can, however, seal most of the bag but leave a small opening for a straw, which you use to suck out the remaining air. Then seal it with your iron ASAP.This kit comes with desiccant packets and oxygen absorbers -- enough for 2 per bag. They are sealed in they're own plastic bags. You MUST remember to seal the bags back up if you aren't using all of the desiccant or the oxygen absorbers immediately, especially the oxy absorbers. They will activate very quickly if you forget to seal the bag back up.Hope this helps!

I used these to stash my rifles in a hiding spot. I just wish they had a ziplock-type seal to use in place of the heat seal. But overall, a nice weatherproof bag....

This wasn't anything fancy, just a simple mylar bag. However I was well pleased with the thickness of it and the apparent strength. I have a full size hunting rifle in one with plenty of length left of to fold that end and temporarily seal it. It appears to be durable.
