UPDATED Kit with Proper Neck Connection is a HOME RUN! Great Addition to My Lego Collection! Fun Build with AMAZING Results.
This UPDATED Wall-e Lego kit is an incredibly fun build and the result is one of my favorite final products in my collection. This kit is the updated kit with the correct neck connection. The original kit had neck issues that required updated pieces from Lego. Don't hesitate to buy this kit if you're unsure if its the original or fixed version, it's the later :) As far as the overall build goes, this kit does not have numbered bags. If you're used to numbered bags that keep you somewhat organized without any effort, you're gonna have to make a little adjustment. You will need to organize/separate all the pieces at the start of the build to be the most efficient with your time. I personally like when the bags are not numbered and piece organization is required. I think this brings you more into the building process rather than mindlessly opening bags and putting pieces together that are easy to locate. The final result is a build that has a moving head, eyes, arms, center opening and gears that move the treads (somewhat). This is an incredibly great addition to my Lego collection!

great kit, but....
I waited a long time for this to be released from the lego ideas program. I love this kit, it was fun to put together and looks great when completed. I have 1 complaint, 1 suggestion and 1 idea. Complaint: Wall-E's head doesnt stay where you pose it. Its too heavy for the connection that was used and it just kind of flops around. I wrapped some kapton tape around the stud that is being used as the axle. This added enough friction to hold the head in position for most poses. Suggestion: It would have been perfect if it had included a cube of trash to put in his compactor. Idea: make an eve companion for this kit

really nice set
A nice set that is a fun build. If you get the original neck design that doesn't work well, LEGO will send you replacement parts for free to redo the neck so it works correctly. That is the sign of a really good company. But if you are a LEGO fan, you already know that. My sons had fun building it together, and my wife thinks it is really cute. My pricing rule of thumb for LEGO is that sets should cost $0.10 per piece. So this is a good deal ($60 for 677 pieces) especially considering it is a name brand set.

I loved putting this kit together
I loved putting this kit together! I loved Wall* E when it came out a few years ago so I ordered the kit when I saw it. It took me about 6 hours to put it together. I'm a novice so it might take experts a shorter amount of time. I wish the tracks on him were a little more motion friendly. They do work, but you have to manually spin them yourself. The arms and head are well constructed and I love that you can open his trash compactor compartment, so he's not just a solid block of legos. Overall it's a great kit and it's making me look for other Lego Idea kits to construct just for the fun of it. (My eye is on the Disney Castle)

Check out what Wall•E can do!
We've gotten our 12 YO son a lot of Legos. Okay a lot is an understatement. Big kits, small kits, and everything in between. But this Wall•E kit was by far his favorite. AND mine. Our son is just days away from 12, passionate about Legos and robotics and loved the movie Wall•E... so we figured he would like it. We didn't realize he would go through each page of the 130 Pg Builder's Manual Christmas Evening and put it together that night! He LOVED it! Putting Wall•E together took priority over several things he's been wanting for Christmas for a long long time. It took him a few hours to get it together but he loved the process of building it and loves playing with it now that it's built. I was surprised by the level of detail and the incredible ways Wall•E is able to move. If you've seen the movie, this kit can closely match any of Wall•E's expressions and positions. Minus a very few. Lego nailed it when it comes to the flexibility and expression of Wall•E's eyes! His tracks are hard plastic and don't provide Wall•E any traction but they do actually function if you move him along the carpet. His arms move back and fourth and all around. His "fingers" grasp and allow for position adjustment of grasp. Wall•E's front compactor door opens and his neck allows for all sorts of positions, which only adds to this Lego kits ability to convey Wall•E's enduring expressions. I would never regret spending the money for this kit. It has been, in my opinion, very well worth the money and has inspired many other project ideas. Today we are working on a fire extinguisher and a compacted trash cube to fit in and out of Wall•E's compactor compartment. Our son has also been inspired to build a larger Lego Wall•E with motorized moving parts. Overall I am thoroughly pleased with this kit and all of its functions.

It's so worth it you guys.
I'm nearing 30 years old but you wouldn't have guessed that by how I acted when this finally arrived on my doorstep. The rest of my day now spoken for, I sat down, cleared the table, and began building what has now become my favorite thing I own. So. Many. Pieces. It's been nearly 15 years since I put a lego set together, but I remember the little instruction booklets having around 10-20 pages of illustrations. This set, however, comes with a 200-page bound instruction book. Give yourself a good 4-6 hours to put it all together. The tiniest pieces have duplicates in the box, but a huge portion of the pieces have three or fewer "nubs" so don't plan on moving this around until it's all put together. For the first hour or so it's not entirely clear what part of Wall-e you're working on, but stick with it and you will be hugely rewarded. This far surpassed my expectations, and there is no amount of hyperbole that can convey how freaking cool it is. His little compartment opens up to store his adorable little plant. His eyes...oh his eyes. His head/eyes are so fluidly posable (mine shipped with the updated ball joint 2/14/16) that many expressions are possible when posing. His arms and "hands" are equally posable (and are on ball joints as well, so expect a wide range of motion). Just like how the animators were able to transcended his cold metal robot body in the movie, this little pile of plastic bricks appears to have a soul. I keep looking over at him and expecting him to come online. Nicely done, LEGO. This set inspired wonder in both my inner child and outer adult, and I can't thank you enough for that.

AMAZING
I've been a Lego fan and user since I was a kid and I have to say that evolution hasn't changed the essence of the brand. Now what can I say about WALL-E? It is an amazing model. I see that some of the owners like to criticize and point to some of the minor design "flaws". Please remember that WALL-E is a computerized animation and with it you can do whatever your want. Now bringing that to our physical environment requires a lot of engineering and thinking so even with more complex pieces it will have some limitations. For me and I repeat is just amazing. Congratulations to the Lego family, engineers and designers. They made an incredible set, very fun to put together and with a little imagination it will always look great.

A must-have for any Wall-e fan
This is an excellent buy. I'm a big fan of Wall-e and a huge fan of legos. I'm a 28 year old man who's been playing with legos his whole life. First I'll address the wobbly head I heard so much about before committing to this buy. Apparently LEGO fixed the issue. I have no problems with the head on mine, it's quite sturdy and stays where I pose it. The bags are not numbered. I didn't find this frustrating, I enjoyed the challenge. There were 7 or 8 bags in the box, and you need to open most of them within the first few pages of directions, so have a big table cleared off. It took between 2 and 3 hours to build. The end piece looks great and it's cool to have sitting on a shelf where everyone can see it. The only complaint I have came at the very end of the build. The last thing you do is build the arms. I was disappointed to find out that the arms have no joints for elbows or wrists. The arms are rigid. The only moving parts are at the shoulders and fingers, so his arm poses are very limited. But seeing as how this is more of a display piece than a play thing, it's really not that big of a deal for me. But that's the only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars.
