WOW
I came here to say OMG. This is a cheap lens, but the image quality is so rich!!!! I am in my first year of portrait photography and wanted a wide angle, so I bough this. I am very happy with this lens, the images are sharp!! Definitely worth buying.

3.5 star lens with a 5 star value
I combo'd this lens with Yongnuo's other, 50mm 1.8, which makes for versatile kit for anyone starting off. The autofocus gets there, which is already sounding like it's not that great; it's fine if you don't shoot anything fast moving lol. The quality is pretty nice, but suffers from the same fate as it's brother the 50mm 1.8, in that it is a bit soft when the aperture is wide open at 2.0. Still, even though these lenses aren't going to turn any heads, for the price it is a great starter to have in a kit.Random note that may only affect a few people. I switched over to Fujifilm and use a Fringer autofocus adapter for my Canon glass. Most of the canon/tamron/sigma glass adapted work flawlessly, but not Yongnuo's. I've emailed Fringer and their response is lack of support from YN. It is unfortunate, but I am not going to knock off any points for that reason; it's still a great lens. Just thought to inform people who would be using the Yongnuo glass to be adapted on other systems.

Great lens for the price
Great lens with a nice wide aperture for the price. While the focus may be a little noisy, it is the same as Yongnuo's 50mm f1.8. Personally I like a little noise from the lens as it is like haptic feedback to make you aware that the lens is working. In extremely sunny conditions my eye can not always adjust to the viewfinder instantly and hearing a quick "zzzt" feel/sound lets me know I am in focus and I can grab a shot. I know most cameras beep, but I turned my beep off as I do a lot of wildlife photos. This also helps when you want to stand and hold your camera low to the ground without pulling out the live view screen and you can see and feel the lens getting a closeup to try and grab a quick shot.

Great at this price point
I picked out this 35mm to supplement my 50mm f/1.8 for automotive photography; it's tough to get a clean shot when you need to stand 15 feet or more away to capture your whole subject. This 35mm certainly does the trick at narrowing the distance I need between my subject and I. Picture quality is fantastic for the price and when used in conjunction with my cheap, hobbyist's setup, a Rebel XSi. I can get cleaner, more full interior shots and stand further away for full-width shots as well. I'd be happy to buy it again. Will update the post if something goes awry, but so far I'll be keeping it with me for shoots.

...a good buy for a good price...
...as an enthusiast/intermediate/hobbyist photographer, this is one lens that I would highly recommend to add to your bag of lenses. The build is sturdy and it a perfect fit for my Rebel T8i. I took the photos of the box that the lens came in and you can see the quality of what you're getting with this particular lens. I'm not a professional photographer, so I don''t see myself purchasing the upper echelon of lenses. So those that have a budget on their hobby, this is a GREAT lens for the price and quality...

Unreliable
This is my second Yongnuo lens. Both did not even last a year. The motor is loud when focusing, speed of it is slow. The sharpness is good for the price. Versatility is good for all purpose shooting.

Worth the money
I bought this lens on a whim. I figured at the price if it wasn’t great no big deal. I didn’t even pull it out of the package for a week. When I got a job to photograph some Etsy product for a client I used my canon 50mm then thought what the heck let me get the yongnuo out. Putting on the camera I felt a little resistance that I don’t get with my canon lenses but I’m not too concerned about it. It is noisy as it auto focuses but again not a big concern for me. When I got my images into the computer I was shocked at how good the yongnuo images are. In fact it is the images shot with the yongnuo that I delivered to the client. I posted a few here. I will be looking into other yongnuo lenses to add to my kit.
