These are well made and solid. Easy to use as long as you have a vise. I would buy again and I did buy again.

I purchased these rope connectors to make my own dog leashes and leads from a retired climbing rope. The rope I used is 10.2mm in diameter, which worked well within the size of the clamps.I can’t speak to the longevity of the stainless steel from a long term perspective, but each piece felt solid and was well formed. There were no mid-formed pieces, nor were there any sharp edges.In order to close the clamp around the rope, I used a combination of a bench vise as well as a hammer to help close the clamp on the rope, as well as to overlap the opposing sides. After the clamp was fully closed, I used 1.25” (free state) 3:1 shrink tubing with an adhesive inside. Long story short, I expect the climbing rope to fail long before this hardware.

I used these clamps to make a loop at the end of a rope. I used a small machinist's vise, channel-lock pliers, and hammer with a dull concrete chisel to bend and fold this clamp. The pliers get the party started by bending the ears inward. The vise keeps the clamp from spreading outward. The hammer and chisel bend the ears down and inward until both rope segments are clamped. Only takes a couple minutes and finishes clean….almost like it was done in a press!

I used these wraps as one layer of making a dog leash. First, I super glue the loop, then I add paracord whipping, then one of these, lastly black shrink tubing. Super glue is strong, but if you concentrate the load on the end it can come undone. The whipping plus the clamps prevents it from spreading. Probably overkill, but I don't want it to fail.

Never used these till now, they work great. Simple to use and look neat and tidy. Worked great on nylon rope that typically is hard to tie a clean knot with.

Will not work with 8mm rope. Pulls right through. Might work with 1/2 inch but not 8mm.
