Working well for DIY dog leash
I purchased these rope connectors to make my own dog leashes and leads from a retired climbing rope. The rope I used is 10.2mm in diameter, which worked well within the size of the clamps.I can’t speak to the longevity of the stainless steel from a long term perspective, but each piece felt solid and was well formed. There were no mid-formed pieces, nor were there any sharp edges. In order to close the clamp around the rope, I used a combination of a bench vise as well as a hammer to help close the clamp on the rope, as well as to overlap the opposing sides. After the clamp was fully closed, I used 1.25” (free state) 3:1 shrink tubing with an adhesive inside. Long story short, I expect the climbing rope to fail long before this hardware.

Quick and easy
Perfect for what I needed. I was able to use a gooseneck pliers/vice to secure the clamp. No need for a table vice, chisel etc. Simple and quick. Perfect

rope clamp
I use these for making a super long dog leader, {70 ft.) and they definitley outlast the rope. Usually replace every couple of years.

Great clamping force
Bought these to link two ends of rope together. They worked out great. Nice quality at a fair price

Maybe good for something besides the intended use
In theory, these seem like good heavy duty rope clamps. I'm using them to make dog leashes from climbing rope. The 3 star review is because these clamps only have the grip/spike bit that keeps the rope from sliding out in the very center of the clamp. If you are clamping 2 lines of rope, the spikes sit in between the two and don't grip either piece of rope. So even with these clamped tight on the correct size rope, any decent amount of force will cause the rope to pull through. If this isn't a concern for you, then these seem like they are good quality. But if they are installed as they are designed to be, they are useless. For me, it was a waste of money and I'm now looking for other clamps to order.

Work great
Never used these till now, they work great. Simple to use and look neat and tidy. Worked great on nylon rope that typically is hard to tie a clean knot with.

I am a bit dubious
I have concerns, it is very difficult, IMO, to produce a reliable crimp on such an item without a crimping tool specific to the product, and with a specific crimping force. I saw no such tool offered. My crimps all looked a little different so I have to wonder how reliable they are. That said I would not dare use this for crimps where safety is a concern. I did however use them for keeping free nylon rope ends from further fraying (heat/flame was not working well on my rope), and for appearance sake to keep free ends of rope from just dangling.
