100% Pure Flax Linen Bath Towel 25"x 52"

I literally ran into a woman while I was shopping a couple of weeks ago...and, well we began talking and she told me about linen bath towels. I love linen - dish towels, tea towels, clothing, sheets...but bath towels? I had to try them. So I came home, logged onto Amazon.com, and read reviews on several brands. Sofia's Linen brand received all 5-star reviews except for one, which didn't seem plausible to me (A bad smell that would not go away?!!). I ordered two. They arrived quickly but without care instructions. I wrote a question about the care and received a detailed answer from the seller in minutes!! Then I showered and used one - I'm totally hooked. No more heavy, oversized bath towels that don't dry very well and take over an hour to dry after washing in the machine. These are true linen and have that linen scent that I love. These are super absorbent; light in weight (easy to dry between toes!!); and they dry in no time after use. They have a beautiful linen scent - at least to me they do. I love the smell of true linen, and these have that scent. They are not rough in any way, yet they are not soft and fluffy like most bath towels today. Actually, I have always bought textured bath towels, because I don't like the feel of those soft, fluffy towels that glide over my body without absorbing water.I have decided to wash them by hand. I used a large dishpan with a tiny bit of organic castile soap. I let the towel soak for 15 minutes, then I rinsed it many times and hung it over my shower rod to dry - which took 45 minutes and with minimal wrinkles. So, I'm back to order two more. I very highly recommend these bath towels to everyone...they would be wonderful for children, especially this smaller size.

This is my first linen towel and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.I bought this because it sounded like it was more absorbent than normal towels and it's also quick drying. It definitely is very absorbent, just as much if not more than the usual thick cotton towels. It's pretty obvious which parts of the towel are soaked so it helps me use the dryer parts to get up all the moisture. I don't know exactly how long it takes to dry but considering how light and thin it is I imagine it dries in only a few hours. I've heard these things are antibacterial, maybe it's because they dry quickly, but I did also notice that this towel could be reused dozens of times, hung up to dry, and never really smelled bad. My regular cotton towels need to be washed at least once a month or they get noticeably stinky.The biggest downside, which didn't come as any surprise, is that it's pretty rough. It's not as bad as a burlap sack or anything but it's probably doing a bit of exfoliating when you use it. I've read reviews of other linen towels and I get concerned when they say how soft it is. I'm not sure if those other towels are specially treated or pre-washed but I would be wary of any "100% linen" towels that feel soft. As well as this towel dries you off you really don't need to do that much rubbing.This is a great towel to take to the gym since it's so light, so thin, and dries quickly. That's exactly why I'm getting another one!

I like the size of this towel, and that it's the real thing. I was looking for a flax towel because they are very absorbent and fast drying.It's kind of scratchy, I'm used to the fluffy cotton towels. (Only reason it gets 4 stars) hopefully it will soften up over time. Otherwise, I'll be keeping this towel and it looks like it will last a very long time, longer than those fluffy cotton ones ever do.

The towel is much smaller than described but the linen works well as a bath towel.

This towel fits my needs perfectly. I am a 5' 7" man with short hair. The size and thickness of this towel dries me well.Even during the coldest months when the temperature of my home is around 60F, this towel dries quickly, inhibiting the bacterial growth that causes towels to smell, and reducing the amount of laundry I have to do. It dries quick enough to hand-wash, wring out, and hang dry.After using for several months, the size is slightly smaller and it has become softer. When using a dryer, it will be wrinkly if allowed to dry completely, and it will be stiff. Pull it out when slightly damp, then block and fold it to keep the wrinkles out. I just hang mine back over the towel bar, and it looks great. There have been no loose threads or other quality issues after washing dozens of times. The quality of this towel is excellent, but note that linen is an imperfect fabric by its nature, so there will be bumps and differences in thickness.Some people may take issue with the smell when wet. Fabrics like linen, merino, cashmere, and even cotton have their own smell. Most people grow up around cotton, so it becomes normal. It's not a bad smell; just a new sensation. Wet merino is far funkier in my opinion, but I love merino too, and don't really notice it any longer.It folds up small enough to bring travelling so you don't have to use motel towels.I would like to see a variety of color and/or trims in order to keep one in my day pack for use as a picnic blanket, set on bleachers, etc.People who like fluffy, ultra-soft towels probably would not like this towel, but for anybody else interested in this towel, I would recommend trying it out. I wish that I would have gotten one sooner.

I first bought this towel in 2018 when I was backpacking Portugal and needed a thin, easy to pack towel that would dry quickly in the conditions. And I promptly fell in love. I've been using that SAME towel since then, and have bought two more. They dry so quickly, thoroughly dry my 5'8 curvier body, never smell, and feel amazing. I genuinely could not recommend these enough. - Not an ad (although I'd be so open to receive them for a discount)
