It DOES OFFER PROTECTION! Many birds don’t have a nest built or there’s is knocked down/blown over from the weather. These are perfect to place all around the home (south facing) in bushes up high. I was able to glue some moss on the body for more wind protection. Please buy these for our harsh winters. Put them out in October/November so they can get aquatinted with them.

I had wrens already roosting on my porch, so I added this to the pillar that was unoccupied. They checked it out for a few days, then moved in right away. We noticed daytime activity, which isn’t common, and then quickly learned they’ve chosen to build a nest in the roosting pocket!

I liked the variety because my finches are very picky with where they lay so I had no idea what they would do. They refuse to use actual proper wooden nest boxes so I bought these to add in with their open baskets that they do love.They do like them but only the two teardrop ones. Don’t have photo of the third because it’s vacant and a bit poopy at the moment but one of the pairs almost chose that one as their nest so nothing wrong there.I was assuming the large 3 door one would be fully open on the inside but just had 3 openings. I bought this mainly for that because I knew they would have loved it. But no, it is 3 individual compartments and they are too small to actually use, even my tiny zebra finches. They investigated it for about a week and then collectively decided to never touch it. So now it sits as decoration.Still recommend as long as you’re aware that the big one will have to be decor. Finches or other tiny birds can use the other two.

Two of the roosts are fine but one of them is lopsided and can't be corrected, like it's been crushed to one side and won't go back to a normal shape.

Good price but very small entry hole

Great price, unfortunately the coconut 3 tiered house was picked at instantly by my Zebra and Society Finches. They did use the fiber to build in the other 2 nests. So there's that. I would recommend still. 👌
