Perfectly serviceable but not audiophile!
Fitted fine and securely onto my 27" HP EliteDisplay model (one has to remove the rubber strip from the bottom of the monitor in order to expose the holes the connecting lugs fit into). It was autodetected fine and sound came out straight away over the USB with no need for software or meddling. The sound quality is perfectly fine for speech and background music/TV/Netflix but not hifi standards by any means - think the sort of sound quality that you'd get built into a reasonably decent LCD TV. Sound from the headphone socket is pretty good actually when streaming hi-res music but again not up to the standard of a dedicated audiophile component but perfectly acceptable for the price. Looks quite discrete in place.I've seen reports of mains hum in an earlier HP S100 model but I've not experienced any background noise from this HP S101 model.

Decent speaker bar for HP monitors, fixes buzzing issue on S100, not so good for music
This speaker bar fits neatly underneath a compatible HP monitor - I use mine with an HP Z27n G2 and it looks great. As it connects via USB (only) you can control the volume via your regular operating system controls, which is handy, and it powers on and off with my PC. On the right hand side there is also a manual on-off switch / volume control if you prefer to use that. On the left hand side is a 3.5mm microphone input socket and headphone output socket.Sound-wise it is great for speech and OS sounds, but as it is lacking in low end frequencies it's not great for music as you won't hear much bass, but I wouldn't expect that on a speaker this size.This model replaces the HP S100 which had an annoying constant buzzing sound - I can confirm that the S101 doesn't buzz at all!

A FRAUD! You will get the older version
I got older version of this speaker!Instead of getting S101 which is selling three times more expensive than the older version, I got the older one the S100.

Passt perfekt zum HP Monitor
Der Lautsprecher passt perfekt unter den HP-Monitor. Sieht aus, wie ab Werk montiert. Soundmäßig kann man keine Wunder erwarten, aber für die Schularbeit (auch mal Lernvideos schauen) langt es vollkommen. Auf Notebooklautsprecher-Niveau.

Audio quality sucks
Bought this one because it is compatible with my HP Z27 monitor. That's the only upside to it. The audio quality is really bad.

Ottimo accessorio per i monitor senza audio
L'ho acquistato per installarlo su di un Elite Display E243d in quanto (incredibilmente) non dotato di casse.La barra si aggancia perfettamente al monitor grazie alla sua predisposizione.Il volume massimo che raggiunge è molto alto e rende anche bene sui bassi.Sicuramente meglio di qualsiasi altre casse integrate.Molto comoda anche la rotellina laterale per regolare il volume.Personalmente mi ritengo molto soddisfatto.Forse l'unica pecca è l'estetica che è abbastanza anonima.Magari inserire un po' di colore argento e il logo di hp visibile da qualche parte ne avrebbe migliorato l'appeal.
