Excellent
Its very helpful understanding what Romans 12 means. Very thorough. I wish it had questions at the end of each section to do a bible study. Besides that it is excellent.

So Practical... So Encouraging!
Once again, Chip hits one out of the park! What does it really MEAN to live like a Christian? How do the day-to-day, rubber meets the road, "what am I supposed to do now?" questions get answered from a man who's been in the trenches with us regular folks for 30-some years, now? When circumstances leave an honest person really struggling, does our "faith" make sense??Chip has solid, logical, biblical answers. This is a very methodical, EASY read. It's not dumbed down; it's DOABLE!I love the real-life examples Chip gives - he's sometimes funny, super transparent, sometimes poignant, always memorable! ...and that's one of the keys to a good book. Will I remember the main points? Can I apply this today? And with this very accessible book, the answers are a resounding, "Yes!"I highly recommend this book to anyone honestly seeking to understand what it means to live like a Christian. If you've just got your toe in the water of "spirituality," Chip's style will engage you. If you don't yet have saving faith in Jesus, Chip will help you know why your eternity rests on it. If you do, he will untangle some of the issues you still struggle with and spur you on to a deeper, more fulfilling, commitment.Time with this little book will be time you'll be VERY glad you spent! I'll bet you'll be ready to buy another one or two to pass along to family or friends! Happy reading!

Great book by Chip Ingram
This is a revised paperback edition of Ingram's book Living on the Edge. This is not a book that you read quickly, then put down. Every chapter applies in very practical ways some principle drawn from Romans 12. Each chapter then ends with the author's suggestions for things to ponder, to reflect on, and to do. Taking your time with this book will be time well spent.

good book with great applications.
I enjoyed reading this book. The author had a good emphasis on allowing scripture to transform us. This was a good application of how we as Christians should seek to be,each day of our lives.

Now I get it!!!
Becoming a Christian, having come to know Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, came with a lot of religious baggage and ignorance. I understood that being a disciple of Christ was something I had to become through piety, scripture memory, street-corner evangelism, attending every church function, and so on. The list of things to do were impossible for me achieve, so I figured I'd be a follower but probably not ever make it as a disciple of Christ. But that's not what the Bible says, and I didn't slow down enough to really understand what Romans chapter 12 says until now. This book helps me LEARN not only what Romans 12 means but how I can LIVE it out in my every day life. It helps me see that a disciple is an ongoing process of surrendering different aspects of my life to God's will. I now get how investing time in the Word is about allowing it to teach me God's ways. I see how highly God values everyone... and me. It helps me understand how to show love to God and others by choosing to serve those around me, especially when it's not convenient. And I better get how my life isn't about "getting my way," but to show God's love -- even when I've been wronged at levels that I cannot describe. The keys this book made available to me are: 1) The answer to what a disciple looks like is in God's Word and clearly summarized in Romans chapter 12; 2) it's not about doing, but about being; 3) it's impossible to become a disciple of Christ apart from His transforming power; and 4) I AM a disciple of Christ with a plan to continue becoming more and more like Jesus.Oh... and I'm not a big reader, but the way this book is laid out made it so I could take it at a pace that fits who I am.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK to all Christians -- to all followers of Christ.

A Must Read
A refreshing and grounding read. There are so many distractions, “shoulds” and “should nots” in life. What does it really mean to follow Jesus? Chip does a great job in reminding us, by scripture, in this book. The path isn’t easy - probably why it is narrow - but there is not better path. This is an excellent, easy, engaging read, I highly recommend it.

Discipleship Primer and Way Beyond
This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to grow up in their Christian faith. The book contains a multitude of helps or resources outside of the pages of the book to access online. It is so comprehensive in covering everything that can move a person forward who may be stuck in a rut in finding the next pursuit to help bring deeper understanding and appreciation of God. I need to go back through this book and thoroughly engage with the many suggested materials outside of the book. It would be hard for me to imagine any Christian finding anything to fault about this book. Chip has a humble servant attitude and never comes across as thinking he got it right the first time and did not need to pursue growth for himself. I have shared this book with a few people at church. It is that kind of book that you want to give to people to help them out as they have various struggles.
