Q: Are they available in solid black? I like the speaker, but really hate the green. The neon green is a total deal-breaker.

They are not available in black. But if it's the green you do not like just get a liquid black paint marker and paint it. They are great monitors and they can get loud.

Q: How can i get rid of this hiss? i have these monitors connected via rca-1/4 through a 6 channel mixer. the hiss comes and goes but it’s loud.

Same happened to me the hisss is too loud. No way to get rid of it, i returned immediately.

Q: Do these have the switch that malfunctions after one year and causes the speakers to catch on fire? Or did they fix that problem?

Q: Has anyone used thes with electronic drums?

Don’t do it if you’re thinking of playing live with them . If you’re playing back something you’ve recorded then ok. You would need to compress the drums and have a subwoofer to get it close to useable live. Use headphones or a pa speaker made for live instruments.
