Bormioli Rocco Oriente Water Glass, 13.5 oz, Set of 6, Cool Blue

The glasses are quite beautiful and I also found the matching “Oriente” wine/beverage bottles (set of 6) on Amazon. The light blue color (tealy or turquoisey) is striking and all the angles in the design are unique. They aren’t super sturdy, but I wouldn’t consider them fragile either. I wash all my glasses by hand. They arrived with a few of them broken into tiny shards because the company doesn’t use bubble wrap or any protective wrapping for each glass inside their sectioned non-cushioned box. Apparently Amazon wrapped the outside of the product box with bubblewrap but they did not place a “Fragile-Glass Inside” sticker on their shipping box. Amazon Customer Service made it right as usual, so I have no complaints on the resolution. I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and bought the taller Oriente matching glasses today.

Purchased these as my original Italian glasses all broke, is a good copy of the original Italian glasses. Pretty glasses, great for cocktails.

(Bought a box of the smaller water tumbler and the taller highball glass to see if they were as good as the original - received in good time and all were intact. No problems with shipping.) Absolutely love the original Prezioso glassware but they discontinued it. Was pleased when I saw this, the Oriente, thinking it would be the same and was prepared to buy large quantities (I LOVED the Preziosos! Yes, I know, I've said it already but they were/are truly beautiful glasses - I'm hoarding the last 4 that have survived!) The Oriente, as mentioned by others, is not as precisely formed (pattern kind of wanders off near the top) and is not the same type of glass - the Prezioso was made with either High-Tech Crystal Glass SON.hyx® or Ultra Clear Glass SPARKX (not sure which as I don't have the original packaging anymore) but the difference in shine is quite pronounced. The Prezioso would absolutely sparkle when washed and dried. These, not so much. You need to rub them very well and then they still don't have the same clear sparkle as the original. Still a nice looking glass and you will probably think it's lovely, if you hadn't already owned the Prezioso. Will I buy more? Not sure. Would I buy cases of the Prezioso if they started producing it again? Absolutely!
