Great Recipes
I am not familiar with an alkaline diet so my review is based on what I read.I loved reading how simple, easy, and informative it was. This cookbook would work for someone like me since I am just starting out and new to dieting. I just heard about an alkaline diet but still need to do more research the facts. I’ve seen and heard so many different opinions about it that I’ve became frustrated with other books. The One-Pot Alkaline Diet Cookbook: 100 Easy Meals for Your Sheet pan, Skillet, Dutch Oven, and More by Sharisse Dalby was just what I was looking for. The only think I didn’t like was the amount of recipes. It seems like a lot but it is not when you think of the many different categories. I am glad I found two to three recipes I wanted to try from every category. I just wish it was more recipes in the cookbook because I do don’t like thin cookbooks.

Interesting Approach To Health, But Needs Pictures
I was given an opportunity via the publisher to read The One-Pot Alkaline Diet Cookbook: 100 Easy Meals for Your Sheet Pan, Skillet, Dutch Oven, and More. I chose to review this cookbook and my opinion is freely given. After an introduction into the philosophy behind the alkaline diet and how best to use this cookbook, the author dives right into the recipe sections. With a stress on minimizing dairy, meat, poultry, grains, fish and processed foods, while emphasizing quinoa, herbs, spices, black beans, avocado, coconut, and olive oils, The One-Pot Alkaline Diet is basically a specialized vegetarian cookbook. The cookbook is divided into logical sections, which I have listed below with some of the standout recipes.Smoothies: Chocolate-Hazelnut Smoothie; Strawberry-Vanilla SmoothieSuper Salads: Holy Guacamole Arugula Salad; Pineapple Black Bean Salad with Ginger-Lime DressingSatisfying Soups: Garlic, Ginger & Bok Choy Soup; Spicy Black Bean Fajita SoupDutch Oven Dinners: Back to Basics Vegetable Stock; Cozy Autumn Vegetable Stew; Mexican Cumin and Lime QuinoaCasseroles: Layered Cabbage Roll Casserole; Ginger-Sesame Quinoa with Peppers, Carrots, and Snow Peas; Vegan Black Bean Taco CasseroleSkillful Skillets: Ginger-Citrus Quinoa & Edamame; Simple Garlic & Olive Oil Vegetable Stir-fryOne-Pots: Marinara Quinoa with Spring Vegetables; Moroccan Vegetable Stew; Warm One-Pot Thai SaladSheet Pan Suppers: Cajun Sweet Potato Fries with Mashed Black Beans; Sheet Pan Pepper & Onion Fajita BowlsThere were two issues that I had with The One-Pot Alkaline Diet Cookbook: 100 Easy Meals for Your Sheet Pan, Skillet, Dutch Oven, and More. First, there is a lack of pictures, making it difficult to visualize many of the finished dishes. Second, the emphasis on full fat coconut milk, as well as different oils, takes many of the recipes out of balance. The healthy aspects of the recipes, like focusing on fruits and vegetables, are overshadowed at times with the high fat content. Readers looking to change up some of their meals might find recipes in The One-Pot Alkaline Diet Cookbook to their liking.

This is a good, easy to follow recipe book especially for those new to an alkaline diet.
I received a copy of this book for my unbiased, honest review.I'm an older woman with Celiac disease (NO gluten) who has recently investigated the benefits of a predominately alkaline diet. I am not a vegan or vegetarian so the idea of an almost completely meatless/cheese-less diet is not appealing to me. But, Sharisse has created some delicious, nutritious and easy to follow recipes with ingredients which are not hard to find. I do appreciate that other than a good blender if you don't have one, there's no need to invest in any special cookware or gadgets. Everything she uses is in most kitchens. I think for families easy and quick is important. With a little pre-prep or buying foods already cut as she suggests, a cook can have dinner on the table in far less than an hour. I like the smoothie, salad and soup sections especially are significant and very interesting. It's a limited diet, but certainly with this cookbook, not boring.I'm glad I have this book and plan to use it often. I think it would be of benefit to anyone interested in an alkaline diet or even gluten free as am I. We all appreciate healthy, interesting and tasty eating. There are some photos, but I'd agree with other reviewers, "More is better" in that regard. Certainly not a deal breaker as there are some lovely photos.Since my initial review I’ve prepared a few of the recipes. Especially good are the chocolate maple baked beans and the salad with fresh figs and pears. Both, and other recipes in the book are absolutely delicious. Easy prep and clean up a plus.

Not For Me
I bought this book because I was looking for some new recipe ideas for alkaline meals to the books I've been using for the last 5 years. My main disappointment is the amount of spices and herbs used in the recipes. For my palate the spices and herbs are overdone and kill the beautiful flavours of the vegetables. Sorry I bought the book. I've never come across this in recipes before. I think it's very unusual.

Not 100% accurate
The info doesnt seem 100% accurate. A lot of recipes include mushrooms which is acid forming! Also dont know how beer can be on the approved list, especially with the yeast content. And almonds on the avoid list when almonds and almond milk is classed alkaline everywhere else?
