Q: How thick is this pad?

It is approximately 1/16" thick, but the vinyl surface that is bonded to the felt is quite heavy. Unlike other pads with thicker felt padding this pad provides a stable surface that does not cause stemware to wobble.

Q: Does the flannel backing stick to the surface you put it on?

As of today, the flannel backing has not stuck to the surface. It does limit slippage, as we want it to, but it has not stuck or left residue.

Q: Is this safe to put down in a cat cage?

I would think the cat's claws would tear the waterproof layer. It is not protected. Better to go with the ones for baby cribs.

Q: Will it stop table cloth from sliding???

I just checked my own dining room table . . . The answer is No :(
