In my quilting era!
I've recently started my quilting journey after being inspired by my grandma for many years. I like having paper instructions rather than using my phone and it's very helpful for me. I also like to be able to arrange things prior to sewing. Big fan of these both for the instructions and the design inspiration. **The only problem i have (because Iam very picky) are the corners being dented in because they were shipped in a bag not a box. i returned hoping it would come in a box and be fine but the second had dented corners too. Not a big deal- just being picky.

Lovethe Quilt Builder Card Deck
This is a true value. Each card shows a colorful block on the front with all the different size choices and instructions on the back. There are other cards mixed in that provide tips and other helpful information. The cards are sturdy and are stored in a nice box. I am really pleased with this item.

Not for beginner sewers - Way too much math involved
The concept is good, the cards are great, the card designs are fantastic, and I love the quality of the product. But. These are not for beginner sewers looking for a simple project starter.I’ll start with the Cons.- The card loosely provides the size of block needed for the pattern as in, 2” square, but it does NOT tell you how many squares are needed for the pattern, you have to use the picture and count.- There are no measurements for a full quilt. If I wanted to make a quilt using one pattern, it does not say I need to have 2.5 yards of color A. This means I have to measure out each square, and then multiply that by however many squares I may need, then convert my inches into yards.- The measurements listed are not taking into consideration that you need a 1/4-1/2 inch seam allowance. So when it says you need a 2 1/2” triangle, it’s actually 3 inches. But you have to figure that all on your own.-You can choose how big your block is via the guide on the back, but it does not let you know that “it takes 45 6” squares to make a queen sized quilt”. You have to figure out that math by yourself, and then add in the drop and the finishing edge and the binding.- It’s a whole lot of math. So much extra math. But I digress. I mentioned some pros in my cons and I’ll elaborate.- You get 40 different quilt square patterns as inspiration, right at your fingertips.- The grey scale coloring of the pattern is very nice because you can pick out your dark, medium, and light fabric without feeling like it has to match the exact colors of the pattern, like what you’d find in a magazine. You are free to choose Anything!I appreciate the thought put into making these, there’s still a little more work that could be utilized to make them beginner friendly, but overall, it’s not a bad product.
