Phenomenal coming of age book!!
I could not stop reading!! What a fantastic book. Of all the graphic novels I ever read, this is the one that just kept my interest from start to finish. The amazing, expressive art is full of vitality... the characters are so fleshed out, fully dimensional so much that it made me stop and think of my own life. My own loved ones and friends. The situations Amanda finds herself in are so believably real. For a book to reach into my deepest memories as a young teen as the protagonist, gradually becoming aware of her surroundings while also discovering things about herself... that is a beautiful gift of its own. This is a special book that I know many people will find solace in, no matter their sexuality, race or ageSo I say to the creators: thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to follow this journey with Amanda. I hope many other people benefit from this wonderful story and eventually find their own footing in this world just like Amanda did :)

Terrific teen drama
It's remarkable when adults are able to capture every nuance of teenage life, with friendships and crushes and parental resentment that can shift from one moment to the next. More remarkable still when it happens in a story this warm and heartbreaking and hilarious. Crenshaw's illustrations manage to capture teenager's complicated range of emotions, from sullen glare to lovelorn glance, and Venable's characters feel like real people, in all their messy glory. Teens who have outgrown Venable's charming children's books should devour this one.

Kiss Number 8
The story and art of this graphic novel was really good. It was a little coming of age style story. The reason I didn't give it more than 3 stars had to do with the kindle version.Unlike other graphic novels, this one can not be enlarged easily. You also can not pick a frame and just enlarge it. This made reading some of the text really challenging.

5 stars!
Loved this graphic novel, then gave it to my 15 year old niece who loved it, too - 5 stars, highly recommended!

Very good story, characters and art
This was a page-turner and very hard to put down even to fix lunch! I love the expressiveness of the art; the faces and body language. Wide mix of characters. Evolving relationships. The protagonist is easy to identify with and cheer on. Highly recommended.

Gay/trans characters
I bought this at the request of my 11 year old daughter because she loves romantic graphic novels. She told me today that this book was horrible. She said that the story switched frequently from idea to idea. She also said that she was not prepared for the transexual character nor the kissing boys and girls. This seemed to be confusing to her. I consider myself a bad parent for not reading into this deeper before purchasing.

Gorgeous
An amazingly beautiful book! I can’t rave about it enough. The art style was cute, the story was awesome. I was surprised to see the story split and talk about a trans character, though it was insanely refreshing and well told

It's a great read
I love comics but sometimes you have leave the superhero fare and try out other stuff. This book has some great writing and the art work is great. So, if this team puts something else out I will look foward to it.I would have liked a little more story for Sam.My only complaint: I wish Amazon had the same GV feature Comixology has. Maybe it does an I didn't do something right, but I would have liked it more if I could read it panel to panel.
