MSR Thru-Link Inline Backcountry Water Filter

WOW! We bought this to attach to our Camelbak for a music festival (Lost Lands) where we heard the water was... Lacking, we'll say... In smell, taste, color, everything. We figured this might help a bit, but did not have high hopes.When we got to the festival, we could see what people were talking about. The water smelled like it came from the deepest well on Earth, rife with sulfur and other odd smells you don't want in your drinking water. With low hopes, we took a sip through the filter... And we were shocked at how pure the water came out! No smells, no tastes or after tastes, NOTHING! Sure a bottle of water is cheap, but free pure water is even better!I highly recommend this filter to anyone looking to drink clean, pure tasting water from lackluster sources.

I have multiple MSR water filters I use them for my overlanding trips to filter stream and lake water.

Fit my hydrapak bladder seamlessly. It looked right up to the bladder and the hose went in the other end! Water flow is a bit slow but I cannot complain one but, filtered water coming from my hydrapak that doesn’t taste like dry silicone is the BEST!

Kompakt, leicht, einwandfreie Funktion, vollkommen geschmacksneutral. Im Einsatz mit einer Trinkblase muss man ein bisschen stärker saugen. Einziges eventuelles Problem: wenn die (Camelbak)Trinkblase nicht in einem eigenen Fach im Rucksack gelagert ist gestaltet sich das Herausnehmen und Einsetzen der Blase (zum Befüllen) bei vollem Rucksack schwieriger.

Bought this to go with my Camelbak bladder, however it does not naturally "quick-connect" without modifications. Perhaps a simple rubber washer could do the trick, and I will likely try.Nonetheless, I've given this a four star rather than a one just because I only read the description and clearly didn't do enough research. Likely it will do the job if there was a proper seal, but at this point I'm not buying a new bladder I'll just buy a different filter. Hope you have better luck Cheers AK
