Luke Roberts Daughter- like omg I get Luke Roberts in my life again.
Second Generation story. Can be read as a stand-alone. But would be a lot cooler if you read Luke’s story first. Just my opinion. The Hero of this sorry is viewed in general as a screw up, and not a stand up guy. Much of his reputation is due to his cockiness, poor timing, or his real piece of work ex-wife. He’s not as bad as he’s made out to be. In fact he’s aces. He’s a cop and most cops don’t like him, not a good position to be in.Katy is the daughter of the town’s police chief, Luke Roberts(baddest man in town☺️) love me some Luke.Katy is a new coroner(not that much goes down with her job other than people randomly walking in as she removes a body part, there is so much involved in an autopsy IRL it’s fascinating. They weigh the organs because there is a lot to be learned from one that deviates form standard weight/size. Also, there is a long held debate about 24grams-I think that’s the measurement if you’re curious look into it. Darn it could be 28 and if I google it I will lose this review) Katy also comes with a stalker/abusive ex who is about to be released from jail, luckily she also has her own personal psycho to look out for her- read the book for further details-it’s like she has her own Dexter.I thought Payton was an interesting best friend character, we didn’t really see that much of him-but he added an interesting twist to the plot. The story really focused on the couple. Although there was a rich world of events and characters, the story was owned by the primary couple-as it should be.Major highlight of the book were the German Shepard’s. 100! These dogs were the coolest. They are written with an attention to detail that human characters receive. GSD are the greatest breed and the author does them the justice they deserve. Lot of awesomeness. I felt a very strong connection to this book and the earlier series it stems from, this was a great trip down memory lane.

This book had me in tears, both emotional and from laughing so hard!
Katy and Rowen were some of my favorites of all of the kiddos from the earlier books, probably because we had more interactions from them than some of the other kids. This is Katy's book, and it was everything I could have hoped for her!Katy is a daddy's girl. But she also has her daddy's tempter and stubbornness! She had an amazing life, until those two traits led to one of the biggest mistakes of her life. Now, she is putting her life back together, moving on, finding herself again. Until she runs across Logan, one of her dad's officers. Logan's life has been a comedy of errors. One bad thing right after another, all pile on top of each other. And it doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. Together, their problems seem to multiply, but it doesn't seem to be as bad! This book had me in tears, both emotional and from laughing so hard! Katy and Logan are absolutely perfect together, and their personalities seem to mesh so well! I just couldn't help but love them and their story. It was a fun book, in a crazy, warped sort of way. And just when I thought I had it all figured out, I realized I really had no clue what was coming next! This was definitely a good start to a new series, but I still enjoyed visiting characters from previous books!

Good Read!!
I liked both of these characters so it made reading this story enjoyable. Especially since I felt I suspend belief a bit with the decisions Logan made and some of the things he had to endure.I don't know a person who would be paying for a child, especially not that amount, that is not his and he doesn't really have any responsibility to. Heck, I don't know any person that's actually been awarded that amount of money in child support, but maybe the cops in Kilgore, TX make more money than the police departments where I live.I was confused about Katy's age and I went back in search of it, but I either overlooked it or it wasn't there. So if you read this and know the answer let me know...Anyway, overall though this was a good read, and I found myself getting really hot when these two got together. Lani has a great way with sex scenes for sure. She also has a great way of writing wonderful stories that appeal to the emotions, as well as writing stories with a lot of heart and love of all kinds: romantic, friendship, familial. I think that's why it's so easy to love the characters because after you read about one the rest are connected in some way. It's one of the things I love about her stories.

Excellent beginning to new series
Logan Gibbs knows this is his last shot at salvaging his career as a cop, he is part of the new KPD Motorcycle Patrol and if the looks he is getting his outfit has women think he is part of the tv show CHIPS. He will do his job though but he finds himself preoccupied by the beauty he saw at his company get together and recently wrote her a ticket. Little did he realize he was her neighbor.Katy is quirky, she has a dog who is a pain in her but and now finds the cop who gave her a ticket is her neighbor. Katy and Logan themselves at ease with one another and they both have a creative way of solving each others problem. Then there is Katy's Dad, Luke Roberts and Logan's boss who hates Logan but Katy is falling hard for the man who quickly is stealing her heart. This was a fantastic kick off to new series. I was curious what would happen with Katy and was not disappointed. Logan's back story is fantastic, loved every moment of this book. Can't wait for the next book.

Crazy sleepwalking chicks
So we get to visit the Roberts Household again with Katy’s story.Logan and Katy are two people that should not like each other her dad (Luke Roberts) has a dislike for the man poor Logan can’t stop stepping on the chiefs toes but some how he and Katy strike a friendship which quickly turns romantic much to Luke’s disappointment. Hide Yor Crazy is as always with Lani’s books funny serious and heart warming if you haven’t read the KPD SWAT series I would suggest it just to have the background story but it’s not entirely necessary

Quick love
Good story that starts with a motorcycle cop giving Katy a parking ticket. What he doesn’t know is she is the Chief of Police’s daughter…basically his boss! Then he learns she is his downstairs neighbor who sleepwalks. He paces for hours when he should be asleep due to PTSD. Then there is Logan’s crazy ex!Cute story.
