Excellent Purchase - Only wish they had Larger Sizes!
After buying way too many Ziplocs over the the whole Coronantine period of the last year and and half, it became apparent we use a lot of them! This was an issue - first, that was money tossed out the door for a single-use, and second, it is a single use item that's next stop is in a landfill. So the research started, and to bump up the difficulty, I opted to see if any of these were made in the US of A. And that is how we ended up at Zip Top.These bags are awesome. Durable, dishwasher Safe (ALL THE RACKS!), clean up perfectly (even storing stuff like onions), great leak (no leak issues!), and high-heat tolerant (sous vide compatible). The big downside is the upfront cost of these suckers. With a family that cooks and stores a lot of food, we will probably not see a positive ROI within a year. In our case, that was not a problem but could definitely be a deterrent.Another downside (to the company Zip Top) is the size of the containers. The largest they have is the "Large Dish" at 32 ounces. Here's to hoping they see the demand for larger sizes to use for marinating and bulk storage. Other companies have 64 ounce containers, which also work great (not made in USA), but nobody has made the jump to gallon containers.

sturdy stable bowl type container
Likes sturdy, color, bowl type container can reach a spoon into itgoes from freezer to microwave amazing!Does pop open if squeezed tightly and it does drip leak a bit if squeezedDoesn't stain as much as other silicone products I've purchaseddespite the 99% seal not 100%I would definately repurchase several more.Would not use it for hot coffee in the car for example or milk or hot boiling soup in your purseGreat for freezer to microwaveExcellent product

Exactly what I wanted for meal prep!
I already love the idea of meal prep and often cook large batches of grains or soup and freeze them in jars. However, I realized that I could get more in my small freezer when I could lay things flat. I turned to plastic bags but didn't really want to overuse plastic if I could avoid it (to help out the earth). Next, I turned to re-usable silicone bags. I became frustrated because I could not find a single one manufactured in the US and I'm tired of knock-offs and products that may or may not be safe because there simply aren't enough resources to oversee everything manufactured and imported.Enter these Zip Top bags. They are food safe and made in the US. The colors are lovely and the zipper top is firm and easy to close. I can't speak to leaks because I specifically got them for storing and freezing grains. I got four of them. Each bag holds 2 x 1 cup blocks of frozen grains (seen here).I cook rice/quinoa or whatever grain and then I freeze the batch in 1 cup portions. I use these silicone 1 cup freezing trays to get the little 1 cup blocks:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GSSR5V2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1They are also pricey but a good investment for re-use. Not made in the US but they are from a small business with reputable claims that they are made safely and the workers paid fairly. I can use one tray, freeze in two batches, and get 8 cups total.I put labels on the bags:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PVDVWM2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Now I have fast whole grains to pull out of the freezer and put with a meal for any night of the week. I just take out a 1 cup block portion and plop in the microwave for a minute or so, add the flavors I want, and a big part of my healthy plate is ready! It's an upfront cost investment but saves so much in materials and cost over time and gets healthy meals on the table quickly for any of those busy days!

Not leakproof.
Not leak proof. Be careful they can unzip and spill contents. I don’t trust them to hold anything remotely liquid. I toss in dishwasher but they remain wet on the inside so I have to hand dry. May as well hand wash too. They take up space in pantry when storing and even when nested they tend to fall over and off my shelf. Better to store in a deep drawer or self containing bin. One stained with tomato sauce but other than that one they don’t retain smell or stain. I find that I use them more to toss leftovers into the freezer than for pantry or fridge use. I like the one piece design. The round footprints take up space and I don’t like that they are not stackable. Maybe some with ziploc type of lids? Expensive but I think the value of a good product is in how often you actually use it.

Perfect for reheating leftovers
These were on my wishlist forever but I was slow to pull the “ buy now” trigger because of the price, frankly. The commercial was was great — watch the video if you haven’t already, but I didn’t know if it was worth it. I have a lot of plastic containers from IKEA that were a fraction of the cost. Long story short I finally bought them and now I want more. My favorite part is that I can re-heat leftovers in them and not worry about the dangers of plastic in the microwave. They work well for food on the go as well since there’s no lid for my kid to lose. Bottom line, kinda pricey, but a good investment for the environment and family health.I should add that I put everything in the dishwasher and these containers are no worse for the wear. Some of the reviews that I read complained that the containers leak. I haven’t had a problem. I think the secret is to not overfill. It’s actually not that secret: there’s a fill line on the containers. The more you know. Also, don’t turn them upside down if they are filled with liquid. That covers it.

Most used food saver
I absolutely love these. I have ordered multiple times because I just want more and eventually want to replace all of my Tupperware with just these. No lids means no more searching. They seal exceptionally well and I use them in the pantry, fridge, and freezer. Best part is they go right into the dishwasher. Why buy anything these days that is not dishwasher safe? I rave about these and have convinced others close to me to give them a try. Such a great product!
