If you don't want to give your love one a medication expectorant I highly recomentd this which is made of vegetables. It contains watercress, onions, radish and honey and it's alcohol free.

It has a particular minty flavor, but in 3 days my cough was gone.

I always love the minty flavor of this syrup. Soothing...my whole family buys this brand.. however I do notice sometimes the color of the syrup varies from light to dark green
