I'm fairly impressed with this hair dryer. I had been using a professional Conair hair dryer for the last 13 years, which I noticed wasn't getting as hot as it used to. This BaByliss dryer gets extremely hot on the highest setting. I have very thick, wavy hair, so drying my hair has always been a chore. With this hair dryer, my drying time down by at least 1/3, if not in half. I also notice that I don't have to use a straightening iron anymore because this dryer gets so hot that it blows my hair straight. I also like that the motor is very powerful, yet the dryer is extremely light. I enjoy holding it at the very top of the neck between my forefinger and thumb while drying my hair bent over. I'm still amazed at how light this dryer is. One thing I've noticed is that there's a little plastic part that goes over two screws at the base of the hair dryer, right above the hook. I looked at two identical BaByliss dryers and on both of them, this plastic cover was loose in the box. It doesn't secure tightly either and just keeps falling off. I eventually tossed it in a drawer. I'm sure it's only used for cosmetic purposes to hide these two screws, so it's not a big deal. Another thing I'm not crazy about the rubber hook; I'm afraid it's eventually going to tear away, so I now lay my dryer down instead of hanging it on the wall. Overall, it's a good, lightweight hair dryer with a powerful motor and more than adequate heating ability. It's not particularly quiet, but the noise is not so loud that it's irritating to use. I also like that it doesn't have that high-pitched, ear-piercing whine that you find with a lot of other hair dryers. It also has a 4-year warranty and if you haven't noticed, it's made in Italy.

I never knew there was such a difference in hair dryers!! I always bought walmart/drug store dryers. Hated to spend this much money on a dryer I thought would be exactly the same as them. When I got this and turned it on--before ever putting it to my hair--I could feel the difference in the power and the way it ran in my hand!! It was wild! I even made my husband hold my old one and then this one and he could "feel" the difference!! It's a powerful machine!!! Just different. I love it! Definitely cut my drying time in half. I have long thick naturally curly hair that is frizzy of course. With this dryer almost all frizz is gone. For a long time I've tried to get my hair to feel like it does when I leave the salon. I could use the same products, etc. and it wouldn't. When my last dryer started failing, I thought that's the only thing I haven't tried yet. I have a babyliss flat iron that changed my world with straightening. So I read the reviews and I took a chance to see if this would do the same. It certainly has! It's the same brand my stylist uses but different model. It's wonderful! I've always had to look for a specific dryer that will dry my hair fast enough to help straighten it so I can have less use of the flat iron. And on every dryer I always have had to use the high setting. With this dryer high is almost too much! And i never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth! I can straighten my hair on low with this dryer! It has different heat settings. I've never used the high heat. Low heat is enough for me and a new that i like. And I can even use the cold only to dry it straight or curly! Although I find a little heat works best on my curls. I also have to say that in the past if I've dried my hair curly, i have BIG hair for at least the first day. BIG BIG! It was normally day 2 before it looked "decent" and natural. Now i can dry my hair curly and I get amazing new tight natural curl without the poof!!! It looks great all days. It seems to help lock in the style also. Locks in the curls for several days. And it locks in a straight style for a few days also. Definitely helps to reduce the use of my flat iron. When I dry it straight it is almost all straight immediately. I just use my flat iron to smooth a little more and piece together. And my hair is super soft either way!!! It may not be quite salon smooth but it's darn close!! Feels healthier and probably is without the extra heat from dryer and flat iron. I LOVE it! I took a gamble and I won! So if you're looking for something different but don't think higher dollar dryers are worth it, give this a go! I never knew the difference it would make with this mop!!

I now have 2 of these. I recently bought the black one but I have had the blue one since 2007. It is powerful and will last forever.

This is a holy grail of hair dryers. It drastically reduced my hair drying time and my hair has never been smoother and shinier. I could not recommend this product more.

This is powerful. It has as much power as the one from the salon. It will dry your hair faster than any Conair ones. It is rated at 2000w and Conair ones are 1875W. The ~100W really makes a difference. It produces much more air and is very hot air. It takes about 10 seconds for it to warm up. Ones it is warm up the air is very hot, be careful not to burn your head. If you feel it is too hot use the other nozzle. This will dry your hair faster than those Conair ones. However, it will cost you 2x or 3x the money of a Conair.
