Worked great for me. First time use of PEX during replacement of frost free sillcock.
The frostfree sillcock for my front yard needed to be replaced after 20+ years of use. Washer was bad, and the rusty screwhead holding it broke. Minerals in our local water are hard on plumbing parts. Better to replace than repair.Noticed that new sillcocks aren't exactly the same length as the existing. The best quality sillcock I could find was 3/8" shorter than the one I was replacing. I remembered replacing the front yard sillcock once before. Remembered dry fitting copper fittings and various short lengths of 1/2 inch copper until the connection between the sillcock and the 1/2 inch copper supply pipe was just right. Then sweating the joints. Hmmm. Did not want to spend my Saturday morning repeatedly cutting small lengths of copper pipe until I got just the perfect little piece that worked.Read up on PEX and decide snipping off little lengths of PEX would be a lot faster. And would simplify any future sillcock replacement.Access to pipes through garage wall was easy. Desoldered the necessary copper joints and removed old fittings. Then sweated in a new 1/2 inch copper to 1/2 inch PEX adapter to supplying pipe. Then tightened a 1/2" female copper to 1/2" PEX adapter to end of new sillcock. Measured, cut and test fitted PEX pipe to fit. Need a few tries, but easy to snip with a PEX cutting tool, and PEX is cheap. Slid on a couple of 1/2 inch Sharkbite clamps, used this clamping tool to tighten, and voila, job done.Couldn't understand why the big box stores charge $40+ for tools to cinch PEX clamps. Glad I found this item only. It worked great. Fast, easy, no leaks.

Good product
Good product, and good price. This is a good tool for Ratcheting PEX Cinch Fastening Stainless Clamps. I used it to crimp a clamp around a 1 inch vinyl tubing onto a barbed PVC fitting, worked great.

Perfect for my needs and at a reasonable price
I am "building" a Whole House Water treating system and "went back and forth" between going from a PEX main to a CPVC set up to a full PEX set up. I then "went back and forth" between going copper crimp rings and stainless cinch rings. After MUCH research and personal experience, I (comfortably) decided on the stainless steel cinch rings and more specifically, this tool... A much better value then a copper ring crimping tool set . Secondly, it is easier to remove the stainless steel rings if one needs to. In what I am doing, I primarily am working with 1" piping and a little 1/2".This tool is a good quality for the price. I like the ratcheting feature. I have read some reviews about working 1" inch send out does not concern me. The tool looks heavy enough to manage it.While I have not used it as of this review, I am very pleased with the quality and price of this tool..UPDATE : I FINALLY got to use it. I am currently using on all 1" (Sharkbite Brand) rings/clamps with no issues. (No tool twisting etc.) I can see where some folks may have issues on 1" trying to clamp, but begin a maintenance proffessional, I would say it is normal. One just needs to get into a good position to leverage ones strength. One can also use physics by putting two 1" X 1 foot PEX pieces (or similar) over the handles extending ones leverage. Made it much easier. I did most of mine without "the help"... Worked great...

How to calibrate when needed?
Doesn't any manufacturer know how to print an owners manual for anything anymore? This tool needs calibrating at some point in it's life. You use a gap gauge which is provided. But there are no instructions worth speaking of for the long term user on how to calibrate. The tool itself seems fine. I will learn through trial and error, I guess.

Works as well as the $50 tool
It works, which is more than I can say about some cheaper tools. Actually, I saw this same tool at ACE for 3x the price, so this was a bargain for our new bathroom installation.

Great price, well built and easy to use!
After seeing that tools with the same function were priced at least twice as much (and some at 4x the cost!) at brick & mortar stores, I decided to take a chance in spite of the few folks that weren't happy with their purchase. This tool seems to be well built and has a quality fit & finish of the components. It does come with the calibration gauge if it ever need a to be adjusted. It is pretty simple to use but I will say that it does require a bit of force to operate. It's definitely a "two-handed" tool (at least to get the clamp rings to start to crimp). I will also say that this tool is not designed to work in tight spaces as the lever arms need to be spread quite far apart to fit over the connection on the crimp clamp. That's the way it works though and doesn't deserve a Star reduction.I have yet to have to remove a crimp clamp with this system AND the instructions emphasize that this tool isn't designed to do so but it seems like the clamps can be removed easily with a screwdriver and or a pair of pliers.Overall, I believe that this tool will provide years of good service for many DIY PEX plumbing projects!

Bigger would be better, but OK
This tool works as intended but when using it for 1" items it lacks leverage. If you are creative, you can get around it. Has good features and is well priced. I have only fastened about 6 items so I do not know how long it will last.
