The Golden Helmet Starring Walt Disney's Donald Duck (WALT DISNEY DONALD DUCK GN)

A great childhood memory from Carl Barks.
Read this as a youngster in the late 50s, and loved it. This was a longer yarn, with more character exposition of Donald's character than many of the earlier comic stories had. And, as an artist myself, how could one not appreciate the name of the bad guy--"Azure Blue?"

I remember it,
I remember this comic from when I was a young kid - it must have been 1953 or 54. Im not sure why it made such a lasting impression on me except it was my first exposure to the adult problem of power going to someone’s head. The idea that an absolute ruler could enslave people - and Donald could charge for the air we breathe- was really scary to a 7-year-old!

Donald is fabulous
As always Donald seizes the day. Although he encounters strife he continues through to the bitter end. He an the nephews are undaunted in their adventures. Great villains to confront
