Great Gift
We own a copy of this and bought a copy for a family member for Christmas. It's an instructive, beautiful book that I'd recommend to anyone interested in data presentation.

Great overview of information visualization
This book is a great overview data visualization including when to use different types and why. It also covers powerful tools to make greater impacts. I personally loved the section on info graphic resumes and use of info graphics in improving internal communications. I work as a strategist and use visuals to help lead transformational change- this is a great resource for this growing field.

Not great for advanced practitioners.
My professor recommended this for a graduate-level data viz course. I took an infographics topics course years ago in my undergrad and I've done quite a bit of work over the years related to information visualization. Honestly, this book was underwhelming. It covers a lot of important topics about infographics really well, but I found very little new information to engage with.It would have held more value to me if it could serve as a reference book for inspiration, but I didn't see anything in it that was more astonishing or interesting than what I can find for free on blogs, Google, etc. It's small so some of the more detailed graphics you can't really drink in, and I also felt that some of the infographics in the book were just straight up ugly. I think the title lead me to believe it was more of a reference book.If you're new to infographics, this covers a lot, if you're not, I'd look elsewhere.

Splendid manual to infographics
A very good introduction to infographics. It is also good manual, guiding the usage of graphics with a multitude of examples. The toolbox in the end is very useful. The book is also well-written, textually compact with excellent visual examples. I recommend this to everyone, interested in inforgraphics.

Great illustrations, little insight on how to do.
Focuses on showing examples, little about how to build an infographic. I was hoping that it would provide me more insight on how to organize your thoughts and ideas to create one.

"Cool Infographics" - Cool book!
This book is a good starting point for learning about 'infographics'. Lots of examples and links to informative sites. A bit expensive but, IMHO, worth it if you are serious about learning.

Useful and very understandable for data viz folks wanting to create infographics
This book is focused on infographics, but is also very relevant for best practices for presentation type visualizations. It's handy in e-book format, because it is searchable and you can have it open on screen for ideas while you work on your viz.

A bit of Gold in a pile of Mud
Text is too much waffle - it takes up 55% of book. Would have been better if he just made his points in point form. This has also meant that the infographics are shrunk hugely.A lot of the examples I don't think are that cool - mainly because they are over-embellished.Nevertheless it is thick enough that it has quite a few excellent pieces in there with most able to be looked up onthe web.If you are tight on cash I would think twice - maybe check out his blog of the same name.
