Do yourself a favor and buy this book. I was originally drawn to it when I was looking for books with diverse characters. This book has NOTHING to do with diverse characters, but rather the characters in the illustrations just happen to be diverse (I love the normalcy of this).When this book arrived, we read it over and over and over again. The little girl in the book is an engineer who builds things out of cardboard and she is the best until another "boxitech" comes around. The story ends with a moral in teamwork followed by directions to create two different engineering projects of your own using boxes. We have been collecting boxes for months now to build a fort made of boxes and my son is beyond excited.We have gifted this book 5 times since buying it and EVERY SINGLE TIME the recipient loves it.

I loved the characters in this book. My children felt so seen and are excited to continue to build with boxes themselves.

This book has a great message about creativity, teamwork, and friendship. I love that it features a wide variety of ways that kids can express their creativity and imaginations. As a bonus, the author has included some boxitect challenges in the back of the book along with information about why cardboard is a great material to work with. This would be a fantastic addition to your classroom library and a great mentor text for a STEM classroom!⁣

This book is fantastic! The children in my class loved listening to this story. I can't even count how many times I read the book. This book can also be used with the NYC UPK curriculum on transformation. EXCELLENT BOOK?

Perfect for my 5 year old - she loved the story but especially enjoyed the project at the end!

My two girls really loved this book. They loved how the main characters built these really cool and intricate cardboard sculptures. As a parent I enjoyed certain points through the story: the two main characters/best builders are girls, the girls are encouraged and championed during their competition, the kids are able to problem solve and work together in the end. Overall a lot of good messages in the story, with beautiful illustrations throughout.

Our family loves Kim Smith! We got this book for our 4 and 8 year old daughters - their current favorites were Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Home Alone. Boxitects instantly became a new favourite in our home. It's a fun story with a great message and the illustrations are fantastic!

My kids LOVED this book. It inspired so much creative with Amazon boxes 🤣. I love that the author didn't completely wrap up the story in a nice little bow.Appreciated the diversity in the book.
