Just transfer the OEM chip and start printing!
These just work. I am on the third set. Tried a slightly more expensive set that had the chip already in place. However my printer would not accept the chipped cartridges and I waited to long to return them.Went back to these, transferred the OEM chip as I had always done, and now have a relative HP printer,

AWFUL - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES! THEY ARE TOTAL GARBAGE!I am a college student, and right in the middle of printing out some notes on the skeletal system, my original HP toners decided to finally give out. No worries, I thought, I was prepared for this since I bought the 4-pack of high-yield replacement toners from True Image, AND I saved a lot of money over OEM in the process - how smart am I??Wrong. Totally, absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, WRONG.I knew I was going to have to do some fiddling to remove the chips from my OEM cartridges and put in the replacement cartridges. Hey, I'm handy, and I've done things like this A LOT in my lifetime, so I got this. Sure enough, I managed to get through that process just fine - except on the magenta replacement cartridge, when I went to insert the chip, it just slid right back out!! The tracks for holding it in aren't tight enough to hold the chip in securely, so imagine how careful I am to slide it back into the holder, and carefully - oh, so carefully - insert the replacement toner cartridge into the toner tray of my printer WITHOUT this teeny, tiny little chip falling out somewhere never to be seen again!Well, I manage this, I breathe a sigh of relief when I close the toner tray and then the front door of my printer, no error messages show up, and I click "print" on my next page of notes - and I want to cry. It seems these toner cartridges are a total freaking joke, except I'm not laughing. See the attached image of the printed page that these new toner cartridges gave me! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?? How is this remotely acceptable in ANYONE'S world??I run my printer through several calibrating and cleaning cycles, click print again, not a single thing has improved. I do it one more time, print another page, same thing. And guess what? I'm totally beyond the 30 day return window, so I wasted around $150 on THIS crap! So back to Amazon I go to find yet another vendor or replacement toner cartridges without the ridiculous HP pricetag, and hope and pray they aren't going to rip me off the way this True Image garbage did! (True Image? Based on what, cataracts??)Do yourself a favour and RUN AWAY - run far, run fast, and don't look back. Buy something else and save yourself the time, money, and frustration of dealing with these garbage toner cartridges!

Great product - A lot cheaper than original HP - Definitely will keep buying from this supplier!
I've purchased this product 7 times from this vendor. I have not had any problems with it. I had to learn to move the chips from the original toners, but after I did it one time, it was simple. I just moved the holder that holds the chip from one toner to the other toner each time I buy one from them. It works perfect. And for those that don't read instructions, the printer will never tell you how much toner you have left unless you pay 3-5 times the amount for original toners. But that doesn't matter to me. Great product. Great supplier. Thanks!

Good cartridges, great price, and easy chip swap procedure (see details). Conditionally Recommended
$122 vs. $400? Not exactly.Using a color laser has always been a costly endeavor. It didn't look so bleak when you'd buy your printer because it came with a set of toner cartridges - until you realized that those cartridges were typically "starter" units. I remember a set of "normal" replacement toner cartridges for my Kyocera costing more than the printer! With the HP Color Laserjet Pro M283fdw it isn't as bad, but a full set of OEM high-yield cartridges will cost over $400.That's where the TRUE IMAGE Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP 206X 206A W2110A W2110X HP Color Laserjet Pro M255dw MFP M283fdw M283cdw M283 M255 Printer Toner (Black Cyan Yellow Magenta, 4-Pack) comes in. There's not really anything special about toner... it's magnetic pigment that needs to be uniform in size and color. The cartridge has a drum and the toner, I think - neither of which are particularly complicated. So why is the OEM cartridge $100, and the 3rd-party one $30? Fear. You see, the OEM cartridges are equipped with small chips. I think they're just a tiny bit of non-volatile memory that stores the remaining amount of toner in the cartridge. I also think the printer uses this to validate that the cartridge is the correct color, genuine HP toner, etc. 3rd party manufacturers aren't making these chips, so it's up to you to cannibalize them from your HP cartridges. Clip off a plastic guard with scissors (or a knife), and then slide out the existing chip (using the included jig+drill, if necessary). Place it into the aftermarket cartridge, and you are done. It's easy and only takes about a minute per cartridge. For what it's worth, print quality seems identical. Though there may be some color variation, I can't see it - plus, color lasers aren't really for photo-realistic printing, anyway. The catch is that this informs the printer that the cartridge is genuine, and of the proper type, but it does not clear out the usage. The bottom line is that you can print thousands of pages, but you will continually get toner low messages, and you won't have any idea of how much toner you have remaining. So, in truth your savings aren't $278... they're $278 minus how much of a hassle it is to deal with the warnings and uncertainty. You can deal with the uncertainty by having another toner set on hand, but there's nothing you can do about the nag messages. If you mind that less than you like saving a large amount of money, these cartridges are for you. Conditionally Recommended
