Really good burger press for 1/3 lb burgers
I’m having a hard time with this review, because I’ve never used a hamburger press before and have nothing to compare it to. Why 4 Stars? I like it a lot. Why not 5 stars? I’d like it better if the press was a bit smaller in diameter so it would make 4-1/4 lb burgers instead of 3 5-1/3 lb burgers out of a 1 lb package. I know I’m being picky but if they make a smaller diameter one I’d buy it.I bought this to increase the consistency of the burgers I make so I can time my cooking better for more even results. It does that well when I use 1/3 of a lb of burger per patty. When I try to make 1/4 lb burgers they come out a bit too thin.I like that it’s easy to use, and easy to clean. I have both cleaned it by hand and top rack of the dishwasher. The plastic it’s made of is tough and I think it will last a long time. It works best with a shot of non stick cooking spray before starting to use it (only on the surfaces the meat gets presses on, not below, that causes trouble.

This burger press worked just fine for me.
This burger press worked fine for me. Right after I got, it I made 36 burgers. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get consistent patties with little or no sticking, so here are some tips to get good results.1) Weigh the meat. I got the best results using 5-6 oz. of beef per burger.2) Use well chilled meat. This helps to keep the meat from sticking.3) Press the ground beef into the bottom and flatten it out a bit before pressing. It takes a couple of extra seconds, but it does make perfectly even and consistent patties with very little effort.4) I covered the press surfaces with plastic cling wrap to help release the patties and to make clean up easier.5) Can be used with or without the insert. Removing the insert allows for larger patties.6) I hand wash this press and expect it to last a while. A dishwasher is a harsh environment for plastic and will eventually deteriorate the plastic.Overall, it worked to my satisfaction. It 's going to get a lot of use in our house and I expect it will last for quite a while by taking reasonable care or it.

Excellent Press
Excellent press. This is how I used it: First I weighed my ball of meat. I either did 4 ounces for a 1/4 pound burger which was fine but if you want to really fill out the press I found that doing 5 ounces worked even better. 4 ounces does work but I noticed that some of the edges may of been thinner but that also could be because of the way I was pressing it. Also I covered the top presser with plastic wrap. I did not wrap the bottom. After you press it you can lift the press out of the bottom tray with the middle tray easily. It does stick to the middle tray but you can easily pull it off with your finger. I made about 32 burgers and didn't have any problems other than when I forgot to put the middle tray in. In those cases I simply scraped out the burger, reballed it and did it again.

Very useful for making sausage patties!
I used this for the first time today and I was very pleased with the results. I am glad that I read the reviews and questions beforehand as I use it to make sausage patties for breakfast. I did place waxed paper squares in the base (lifter) before placing the sausage and then another on top of the round of sausage since the reviews pointed out that sausage tends to stick more than beef. This served two purposes. First it kept the sausage from sticking to the press and lifter. Additionally, the papers kept the patties separated for freezing and easy retrieval for cooking up. When done with the burger press, cleanup is easy! Especially when you use the papers to 'sandwich' the sausage between them as I did. Works great for my useage
This burger shaper/press does exactly what I need for home use. This works great for home use, it is NOT a commercial burger press.Make of plastic it is light weight but does handle pressure well.I have used it to make regular patties (using the lift out tray) and thick burgers (removing the lift out tray). It does NOT make stuffed burgers, but then I did not need it to.It easily cleans in the dishwasher and it's easy to make a dozen perfectly formed patties in just a few minutes.

Easiest burger press I've ever used. Works great!
Simply put, this hamburger press from Burger Enterprise works great. I've had different presses before, including some expensive ones, but this is the best by far. Simply to use, makes a great patty, cleans up easy, no fuss, and the lift out handle makes extracting the burger from the mold very easy and efficient. In fact, it is the lift out handle/patty platform that gains this press the 5th star.At first I thought the plastic handle on the press looked like it might be too light weight, however I've processed 20+ lbs. of ground chuck before writing this review and it has held up great. The only improvement they could make is design a two burger press with the same lift out mechanism. Highly recommend this for burger lovers.

Pretty good little press
Pretty good little press, especially for the price. I the insert which can be removed from the press makes removing sometimes sticky burgers a bit easier. I wish there was another quarter inch of depth though to give a little more flexibility if I wanted to press a beast of a patty. But for pressing a number of uniform patties, this definitely does the trick.

This is the perfect patty maker for us
This is the perfect patty maker for us. My husband likes 6oz patties cooked evenly. We weigh out the meat before we press it, and it turns out perfect. We also spray a little cooking spray inside and on the lid before pressing. My only regret is having paid so much for it. I am sure the "mark-up" was quite substantial.
