rock tour
Not as fun as the other guitar hero games because u can not buy things , earn money or do challenges but still fun if the other games are too hard for you. It gets boring after awhile because the amount of diversity that you have compared to the other games are ALOT less. I would recommend this ONLY if you're not good at coordination video games and want something easy and simple for your kids.

On a Modern Hits Tour
With the big success that is Guitar Hero , it's obvious that there will be other companies or developers trying to copy it down note by note. Gameloft's Nintendo DS entry, Guitar Rock Tour, is one of those imitators, and it proudly shows. There's a saying floating around explaining that a rhythm game could only be as good its music. Whether or not Guitar Rock Tour is an exception may be up to you, but there's evidence to add to both sides of the argument. There are fifteen songs in the game, but a lot of them feel generic and, well, just there. And while songs like Girlfriend and Smoke on the Water get their time to shine, we also have a terrible Beat It cover. I don't really have anything against any of the songs (aside from the Beat It cover), but I personally didn't find them to be great song choices, as they aren't as catchy or fun to listen to as songs that normally appear in rhythm games. That includes even Guitar Hero and Rock Band.Speaking of which, Guitar Rock Tour emulates the interface reasonably well, but the control is totally different. Instead of using a peripheral to press fret buttons and strumming, you just tap on the fret buttons instead. There are more colors of frets, but the gameplay isn't exactly as fun or challenging. That is, unless you're playing Hard mode, where you'll most likely strain yourself. It has the potential to be fun, I guess, but of course, there's no better way to experience a Guitar Hero game on the go than by actually getting the real deal. Or if you don't want to buy a peripheral to play your game, Rock Band 3 and Lego Rock Band should be right up your alley.

Best alternative to Guitar hero ds
I do have guitar hero as well. I bought it and so far I enjoy it just as much as guitar hero. It doesn't have some special controller to plug-in and try to keep plugged in. It is a challenge on the songs. For being a less expensive option. Yes maybe you don't strum the guitar like you would a real guitar, but you have six strings you're keeping up with note wise. I think it is as challenging as guitar hero. If you are trying to get a guitar program for someone or yourself taht won't break the bank give this a shot. It also has a drum part. I haven't done yet, but will try. That may make it like Rock band. It also includes some songs that guitar hero hasn't got.

booooooooooooooooooooo!
oh boy. my wife bought this for me thinking it was guitar hero decades and she won't stop apologizing. the game play is ridiculous( tapping the colored dot as the note reaches it? no strumming? no cords? no fun!) and the songs are lame( the first 4. unless you like that "girlfriend" song, in which case you are a 13 year old girl. that's all i could play until i got so bored i literally started daydreaming and lost). tomorrow i am going into best buy to get decades and if someone is looking at this game, i am going to give it to them. seriously. with the promise that once they realize how worthless it is they have to pass it on, too. it's like a chainletter. only fun if you are a 13 year old girl. the people who rated this 4 or 5 stars have fun playing with a soda can full of pebbles. (amazon MAKES you put atleast one star. i vote '0')

Rock On!!
This game has excellent graphics, touch sensitivity and songs! So far the experience about this game has been amazing. I'm not too good at the drums section yet but I'm rocking really hard on guitar!

BUYER BEWARE!
This game isn't any fun at all. Comparing it to guitar hero is a joke, in these tough economic times it can be tempting to just up and get the cheaper alternative from time to time, but do yourself a favor and not do that here.Bottom line: this game blows.

Fantastic Game
Just as good as the ds version of guitar hero at a big discount. Great songs, good gameplay, impressive graphics. Very fun. Really enjoyed the game.
