flaming pile of garbage
A truly terrible book. This man ranks the quality of writing by the specificity and overuse of adjectives. In addition to the terrible methodology, the way he writes about women cannot be taught in any serious academic, or otherwise saluted as aspirational.

Needs an editor. And a completely different author.
Not only is this book full of spelling and grammar errors, the author's idea of "good descriptive writing" is to stuff your work with prose so purple it's suffocated under its own weight. Phrases and descriptions are tortured to the point of incomprehensiblity. Not only that, but the author's idea of women is... Well I'm not sure he's ever met a living, breathing woman to be honest. Treatment of minority identities isn't that much better, utilizing incredibly outdated and offensive terms like "noble savage".Skip this. And don't hire this man to teach you or your students how to screw in a lightbulb, much less improve your writing.

Top of the class!
The ‘Teachers’ Guide’ that accompanies ‘Blue-Sky Thinking’ is a superb effort by the author. His love of his craft shines through and there is a wealth of tips new teachers in particular can learn from. The design is its most impressive feature as the teacher just has to fill in pre-structured lesson plans. His ideas on how to build confidence through tongue-twisters, his approach to life maps and nutrition and the interlinking monthly modules are what struck me as something I can incorporate into my classes. I am sure others will find different treasures to comment on as every daily module throws up new ideas and approaches. This is the most teacher-friendly book I have read and I can’t wait to try out some of the author’s ideas in my classes. It is what the author said it was- a book for the modern teacher. That is why I will give it five stars in my review.
