Junior Learning 100 Common Idioms, JL473

I browsed through many other products for idioms - books and flashcards before settling on this one. I am happy with my purchase. My kids like reading it. They are fun to read. The quality of the cards is good for kids to hold and use.

This product is great! We use this in our homeschooling morning basket, so we look at a new Idiom everyday. We like the size of the cards and the sturdy holder the cards all go into. One of my kiddos is in speech therapy so these really help. My kids are ages 7+ so I would recommend this product for those ages.

My students love learning these idioms. We are learning one a day. My students love to review the previously taught ones and are eager to hear the new one. They also love sharing with our group how they used the idiom in conversation. They are also thrilled to share how they understood it when they heard it in something they were watching or in something they were reading. It’s a great resource!

Lots of cards for the money. Great tool.

I really like that it has short example paragraphs (~2-4 sentences) that depicit how the idioms are used. Im not sure how I feel about the pictures that show the literal meaning of the idiom, because it confuses or distracts autistic students and students with learning disabilities. But the pictures combined with the paragraphs are a good way to teach them that what an idiom sounds like does not equate to its actual meaning! I enjoy them!

As a speech therapist, I work with quite a few kids on figurative language. I've used a lot of different materials to address idioms. I LOVE these cards. There is a (literal) picture and idiom on one side, and an example and meaning on the other. The cards are "clean" (free from other visual distractions) and easy to use. I love that there are 100 idioms in a small space so I don't have to go through various materials for new ones.

I am an SLP and these are great cards to use in language theory. They are a good size and price. I love that they include the idiom’s meaning as well as it used in context.
