Men and Angels: The Art of James C. Christensen

If you want to buy a "whopper" of a book full of great stuff full of color, this is it!!!! There is NO doubt about it. He is AMAZING, NEW, INCREDIBLE AND ORIGINAL, and has old world values with new mix and a little bit of VIENNA. He has studied the old stuff in EUROPE! This is like a grand library book like Leonardo and Raphael, and of a grand size in pages full of color coming out and reaching you like nobody else!!! Any one else, anyone who someone studied him and is an understudy this guy is an original. Because he has been around for a long time and put out TONS of work to a truly AMAZING point. Many of his paintings show study with the love of nature and workmanship in the world of fairy tales and the world past gone. If you want detail, he is your guy. His work is even even humbling with it's figures and stories!!! The paintings are outside the box and tells their own stories with values of impeccable SKILL. This book is a must for collectors, I am glad I have it or I would have really missed something special.

I just received my copy of Men and Angels and I am absolutely giddy with delight. This is THE most beautiful book I own. I have quite a few art and photography tomes that I love, but this one truly takes the cake. A few years ago, I ran across one of Christensen's other books, A Journey of the Imagination, in a bookstore. I knew nothing about him at the time, and I recall sitting in the floor of the bookstore, mesmerized by his paintings. I went home with my purchase and read it cover to cover that evening. It remains one of my favorite books of all time. I discovered very recently that Christensen had published another one in the past year or so. The quality of this book is superb. I am almost afraid to turn the pages without wearing cotton gloves! The color is exquisite and the pages (and text) are very large, allowing for very nice detail of the paintings. Again, in this work, Christensen describes his inspirations (and perspiration) that go into the pieces, and you get more insight into his symbolism and personal philosophy on life. If you are a fan of Christensen or fantasy art, you will not be disappointed in having this book in your library.

Excellent artwork, extremely well written. Deceptive cover as most of the artwork is completely different.Look up the artist online before purchasing this book. One of my best books and I have many.

I have been a fan of James C Christensen for years. This was my first purchase of his works. This book contains many of his portraits, scenery, and his signature stylized humans, fish, and other quirky fun. I felt this book showed his progression through theme. Great coffee table book. Worth every penny!

This is my most prized art book. Besides loving James Christensen in general, this book is beautifully made. It was well worth the money, in my opinion. All of my favorite works are featured in it. It is a possession I will treasure for years to come.

Das Buch war zügig da aber leider sehr schlampig verpackt. Selbst ein "normales" Buch hätte da Schaden genommen geschweige denn ein wertvolles, antiquarisches und schweres Buch wie dieses. Der gesamte Buchrücken war gebrochen und das Buch überall angeschlagen. Sehr schade um so eine Kostbarkeit.
