This comes empty, but even if you fill it there is still a lot of empty space. So, if you remove the lifted plastic pieces for the AA and AAA it can hold twice as many. Also, if you cut out the slits where the 9V sit you could double your storage as well. Also note that this is made to hold non-rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries are slightly bigger but it will still fit just as many, though a bit tighter.

I just got it today and will probably return it. As many others have said, the lack of any diagram as to where to put batteries in the box is maddening. I just finished 1/2 hour trying to make some sense out of the partitions. That's 20 minutes too long. The spaces that look like they should fit 9v batteries are too small, so I don't know what they are for other than to waste space. Overall, the box is pretty well made, but it's also pretty useless when you can't figure out where to put batteries. This should be a no-brainer, but it is not. I'm still looking for something that does this job with the ease of use it should have. I'd give it no stars if I could.

This storage case seems to have been scientifically designed to utilize the most volume possible while holding the absolute fewest batteries possible. Useless protrusions and ridges abound, and where there does seem to be a nice open space where a larger number of batteries could be stored, they have conveniently provided "Bridge" spacers, to make the space as inefficient as possible. The only use I have found for this item to keep it as an example of poor design and lack of thought.

Love these cases. Have 3 that are apart of our hurricane kit and 1 in our travel trailer for the camping gear. They are great containers able to hold all the batteries we need. They also allow us to rotate through the oldest ones first through the year and reload at that start of hurricane season with new that way we know we have good batteries when we need them.. Great product.

This box is so awesome! I never knew their were organizers out there to store batteries before this.The box has 5 compartments and most size batteriescan be stored in it. The box is made of durable hardplastic that you will not find cheap at all. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Batteries don't fit like they are supposed to. For example, the picture indicates where you should place the 9 volt. If you put them there, you can only store two. I wish I had tried to load this up before the window closed to replace it.

This is okay, as battery holders go, but it is poorly designed, in that some spaces are useless, while others fit the batteries perfectly. It came with a removable plastic piece that I have yet to find a use for. I wouldn't buy it again, but for now, it holds some of my batteries just fine.

I wish I had read the other reviews before I purchased this; they give a very accurate description of the draw backs of this box. I did find another website that lists the amount of batteries (2 - 9v, 4 - D, 5 - C and various amount of AA & AAA) it is supposed to hold but if the slots were correctly sized it would hold less; even a map couldn't overcome the fact that the slots are incorrect in size. Just enter 'Jowtop' in whatever search engine you use.
