Wasabi Free Wasabi Peas
I personally find these things to be disgusting, and they make your breath smell terrible haha, but my mom sent some to us from Japan, and my significant other loved them! So, I got him a 4 pack as a Christmas gift. He's on his fourth can, and is bummed out about it. Yeah, this product doesn't actually contain wasabi, instead, they use horseradish for flavoring, but it's no different than chip brands that clearly do not use actual cheese, or actual BBQ, for flavoring. It's a junk food/snack, like any other. Wasabi has been deemed by most experts to be the most difficult plant in the world to grow commercially; if these were made with real wasabi, they'd be really expensive. I had to mention that because I saw a negative review that brought it up. Anyway, all four cans arrived in perfect condition, and I plan to order more, even though I've been looking forward to him finishing them, so I wouldn't have to smell them again lol.

NOT Wasabi, and not so fresh, and possibly not so wholesome
I've been addicted to the Hoosier Hill Farm Wasabi Peas for quite some time but they're no longer available. I thought I'd try these and was very happy when they arrived only a few days ago (they were also back-ordered for many weeks). I immediately scarfed through a full can of these puppies, despite their being rather more greasy and not nearly as fresh as the Hoosier Hill Farm Wasabi Peas. The next day I had very painful abdominal cramps which lasted over twelve hours. Now, to be sure, I cannot be 100% certain that it was these faux wasabi peas* that caused the cramps. However, they were the only food I had eaten that were not part of my normal diet. If I find that it was not these peas, I will correct this review. If I verify that they caused my cramps (I will eventually try eating from the other three cans I ordered), I will also update this post accordingly.* As others have noted, these use horse radish, NOT wasabi - YES, it's a subtle difference, but NO, they are NOT the same).

Hapi Hot Wasabi Peas! The PRICE is way less expensive by buying it on Amazon!!!!
I am not here to pitch these delish wasabi peas! I am here to share my glee that these peas cost so much less from here on Amazon, than trying to buy them at any grocery store!Where I live, each 9.9 oz can is about $7.00 dollars a piece. EVERYWHERE. So with Amazon prime, the four cans are actually only about $4.50 each, and they show up at your door sometimes even the VERY next day.Now that I got that out-of-the-way, these are the best wasabi peas on the market as well. I’ve had other wasabi peas that we’re not quite.... Actually, they were awful. They tasted like some kind of off-putting batter was on the outside of some strange looking small peas. Those were very inexpensive, and there were plenty of unsold buckets of them available as well.DON’T. Just come on here and buy the peas that you really wanted instead.A great find!

VERY TASTY TREAT, BUT . . .
the flavor your getting is NOT from the wasabi, but horse radish. Wasabi, it seems, turn out to be rather expensive item to purchase and it is rarely grown. I bought this b/c I prepare lots of keto meals and I'm always seeking out a new flavor sensation. Serious keto cooks beware. It's a green pea (so yep a starch). That said, it delish and spicy hot and I recommend it for salads, crushed and sprinkled and just for snacking. Used in low doses, I don't think it will interfere with weight management goals.

If Snap, Crackle, and Pop turned into zombies, I imagine this is what they would make.
How does one write a review about peas? These small delectable, spherical, balls of joy are quite possibly the best food ever produced. Crispy yet hot, crunchy yet not dry, these are the peas of the gods.Ok, in all seriousness, I love these peas. They have an excellent taste and just the right amount of Wasabi kick to them. (The secret to the hot is to not blow out your nose while eating Wasabi. No blow, no heat. Try it.)Naturally they come packaged in a nuclear proof tin that helps them survive the journey from whatever Willy Wonka factory they come from. The price on Amazon simply cannot be beaten and these are an excellent, low calorie snack that you can afford to munch on for hours at a time.Adios Pop Corn, the Green Monsters have arrived.

Never run out again!
If you love hot wasabi peas you already know, Hapi is one of the best! If your new to this spicy treat maybe try the milder one before you commit to the bulk 4 pack. We always seems to be near the end of a container when snacking and sharing, so the four pack is a good deal for us. The price is close to some local retailers, but we often add this item to existing orders to make sure we always have a supply in the pantry.Spice up your day and enjoy!

Delicious! Highly recommend...
Delicious! They have a little kick but are delicious and highly addictive. I was mixing them in a Japanese snack mix or salad but now I find myself just eating them by the handful as an afternoon snack. Yum.Comes in a tin can with a pop-off lid...kind of like a soup can which keeps the peas fresh they also have a plastic reusable lid for after you pop the can open.

False labeling of wasabi. False claim of "a very hot snack."
Clearly mislabeled. This is NOT a very hot snack. And it is horseradish in the can, the seventh listed ingredient, not wasabia japonica.Wasabia Japonica: "It is also called Japanese horseradish, although horseradish is a different plant (which is often used as a substitute for wasabi)," from Wikipedia. This is mildly hot, at best. I would classify it as spicy, and not hot at all. When you eat a real wasabi pea, each pea contains a distinctive hotness. Not so with this product. Eat a handful and your sinuses might catch a whiff of heat. This is a classic case of trusting many reviewers who never read the contents on the can. Shame on you Amazon reviewers. Shame on me for not looking at the label in the small thumbnail pictures to the left of the can picture. I should just stick with the negative reviews to get the lowdown on foods in the future.
