Royal Canin Golden Retriever Adult Dry Dog Food, 30 lb bag

Great food for our 4-pawed family member. He loves it and it has improved his physique since we changed over. A little pricier than other foods, but worth it.

Our golden had struggled with recurring ear infections for the first 2 years of his life. After switching to this at the recommendation of a vet tech, he has not had one ear infection (or gunky ears) in the past 8 months. Our dog loves the food and huge kibble size is great to slow down his eating a little.

My service dog, Delta, is essential in my life. He has been eating Royal Canin Golden Retriever kibble, first the puppy formulation, then the adult formulation, since I got him at 10 weeks old. I don’t even want to try other foods with him. I have tried many other brands and formulas for previous rescued pets I have had (a lab-Pitt mix and two cats) but even with them I ended up with Royal Canin SO for one of the cats. It’s quite expensive, that is for sure, but I also note that Delta seems to require a lot less than the package states. Instead of a bag lasting one month, typically one 30 pound bag will last us about two months, making the price $50/month which is comparable to other brands. Aside from allergies causing skin hot spots in March/April of each year, Delta has been perfectly healthy with excellent and consistent stools. Also importantly - Delta loves his food and we even use it for training and treats. I truly hope the price will not increase any more than it already has as you have a loyal customer in us!

Yes, this food is on the expensive side—but the difference it’s made for my Golden and Australian Shepherd is undeniable. Their coats are shinier, their energy is great, and they absolutely love it. On the rare occasion I’ve offered their old food, they scoff at it like it’s beneath them. Even the cat tries to sneak a few bites when she thinks no one’s looking—which says a lot! I’ve done the research, and this food consistently ranks in the top spots on both professional and consumer lists. With healthy, happy pets and a vet who approves, I’m sticking with it. The subscription through this vendor has been flawless—always on time, never an issue. If you want top-tier nutrition for your dogs, this is it.

I can’t say enough about Royal Canine. My sweet girl has been on it since a puppy. She is happy and healthy.

Rated 4/5 stars. Missing a star simply for the price point but everything else seems to be okay. This is the only food that seems to agree with my dog. Another con would be specifically the delivery issues I have with this dog food. I’ve been subscribed to this and I receive a 40 pound bag every 1.5 months. It’s always hit or miss if I will get it on the projected date or if I will run out and have to run to the local pet store to resupply. Rather inconvenient. Regardless, I would recommend this at the end of the day.

Two Goldens go thru a bag this size in about a month. Feeding 2 cups a day to the older (8 years) one and 3 to the younger (18 months) one.
