Here's my take
I recently came across a delightful children’s ABC book that creatively uses fashion items to introduce each letter of the alphabet. As a parent, I’m always on the lookout for books that are both educational and engaging, and this one certainly stands out. Here’s what makes it a great addition to any child’s bookshelf:Concept and Educational Value: The idea of pairing each letter with a fashion item is brilliant.Illustrations: The illustrations are vibrant, colorful, and eye-catching, which is essential for holding a child’s attention. Each fashion item is depicted in a way that is both stylish and kid-friendly, with clear and simple drawings that make it easy for children to identify the items. The artwork strikes a nice balance between being playful and sophisticated, appealing to both children and parents alike.

Inappropriate for young girls.
This book was purchased for my young daughter. I agree with the other reviews commenting on N is for Nip Slip being inappropriate (not sure why next season, necessity, etc. were not used). It also promotes size zero at the end of the book. Which I also believe is not appropriate for young children. I have since thrown this book away and purchased F is Fashion by Amanda Perna.

It's Simply Delightful!
"F is for Fashion, Darling" is simply delightful! As an educator for over 30 years and a father of 2 grown women, I hope I can God willing share it with grandkids someday. I love the clever and witty way that James Tyler, the author, took fashion related words/phrases and reinterpreted them in children related themes. Then, he used the terms/phrases in simple sentences that children can remember. This is important, because pretend reading is a very important stage in learning to read. Naomi Wilkinson's bold and simple illustrations bring the text to life, in a way that will attract children from infancy through around age 5. (Please note that the hardcover and kindle formats would only work as a read-aloud book for infants, where as a board book format would allow them to handle it.) I also appreciated how she represented children and adults from different races and ethnicities, both male and female. My only suggestion for improvement is that she should have illustrated some fathers, not just mothers.I noticed that some of the reviewers objected to the "Go Commando" and the "Nip Slip" pages. I can understand their concern, but don't fully agree with them. First of all, young children are notorious for running in the nude at least once in their young lives. It's natural, and although I would teach them that running in the nude is inappropriate in public, they shouldn't be made to be ashamed of their bodies. As to the "nip slip" page, breast feeding is a very natural thing, and one that should be promoted for a plethora of reasons. Neither the text nor the illustration are promoting flashing a breast, but the nurturing and loving experience of a mother and her nursing child. The definition in the glossary doesn't even promote flashing, but defines as an accident. All this being said, I believe this book would be marvelous for parents and young children that have an appreciation for fashion.

My wife loves this book - I think it is super confusing for kids
The concept of this book is cute. I'm not super convinced that it really makes sense to kids..."C is for Color blocking" on the page showing blocks...("blocks" starts with a "B") is very confusing in my eyes.

An educational book for kids with humor for adults
“F is for fashion, darling” is a nice hard-cover very colorful sometimes humorous book designed to teach children the capital form of the letters of the alphabet. It includes the most iconic words and phrases from the world of fashion for each letter so that grown-ups will also enjoy the book by seeing the word or phrase associated with the letter that will remind them “how chic life was before kids.” An example is “Z is for size Zero.” The book also has a two page “fashion glossary” with words such as vintage and power dressing.

Such an Adorable Book, Darling
This book "F is for fashion, darling" is adorable! I don't know about your family, but I have a five year old granddaughter that's already a fashionista! And my eleven year old granddaughter was also gaga over clothes at 5 yrs old. So when I saw this book, I knew I had to have it for my granddaughter. She and I talk about fashion everytime we're together. We both love mermaids and the last time I saw her it was her birthday and she said to me, "Nanna my favorite colors are red and pink". Ha! I think that's a big hint for me when I'm shopping for her. My husband and I had a good laugh. This fashion book is about the fashion terminology used in the fashion world like color blocking, ready to wear, and power dressing. There's even a glossary for explanation of the terminology used. Such a beautiful book, darling!

Not suitable for children
Being a new mom, I am shocked and appalled that I have to proof read a children’s alphabet book. “G” is for Go Commando, “N” is for Nip Slip and “Z” is for size zero! These are totally inappropriate for children. I still can’t get over “nip slip”…I will most definitely be returning and do not recommend!!
