Great item. Really non ticking
I've bought several of these and made all of the clocks in my house radio controlled including my girl's unicorn puzzle clock. Very easy to use and I could even use the original arms from the clocks to keep the style. Not ticking at all. very quiet. Super satisfied. This time after the time change, we didn't have to adjust any of the clocks. Highly recommended!

Works just fine
Very easy to fit and replace an unreliable movement.Just followed the very clear instructions and it worked just fine. However, the 2 washers and securing nut were missing, just like the first one purchased. The supplier promptly posted these and I await the postal delivery of the 2nd set.

HD-1688- Excellent Product
The mechanism is excellent and works really well. I had difficulties fitting this to the clock I bought it for as it was a replacement for an existing mechanism that was labelled HD-1688. What I hadn’t considered is the reference comes in many different shapes and may not fit your existing clock.. Fortunately my brother-in-law is an engineer and was able to construct a bracket in the clock to make it fit. I was impressed with the supplier as he did offer assistance after the purchase and I am sure would have assisted if asked. I had already co-opted my brother-in-law as he likes a challenge so didn’t need to. The hands that come with the mechanism are a little large and I would have preferred a selection rather than those that came as standard.

Yes you CAN Coordinate lots of time zones!!! - Great to have all with accurate time to the second!
The media could not be loaded. SEE VIDEO for summary...I wanted to set up a range of international times in my home office. The ones I have seen in offices usually drive me mad as they are all a few minutes out from each other.Using this radio controlled clock in multiples, I now have 5 time zones up on the wall and the most they deviate from one another is by a couple of seconds...then when the radio signal is re-sent regularly, they re-coordinate and are spot on! Very appealing if you are a nerd or like things to match. If you hold up your iPhone with its analogue sweeping second hand it will be in exact time with your international clocks ;o)If all else fails and one remains out by a bit, just press and hold the red reset button at the back for 5 seconds. Within 20 mins the clock will reset and be coordinated with the others.NOTE: the radio signal is a UK signal for UK residents. There will be clocks available for Europe, Asia and the Americas, which will do the same thing in those territories. Not sure if Dan's Clock Shop does them or not.As a standalone clock this would also be great as always accurate. The sweep second hand is also nicer than the quartz tick action in my opinion.Dan is also great - One clock had washers and nut missing...I sent an email and he dispatched the missing parts the same day.If you like things to be accurate and want to know international times, go buy some of these! You can buy 10 inch plain clock faces for them also...would suit a business that wants to show international times without the embarrassment of them always being inaccurate and reflecting badly on the professionalism of the business.

Easy to asssemble, cut the hands to size with kitchen scissors if necessary
I took me around 20 minutes to put this into my clock face, including cutting the hands shorter to fit the face.I then put the clock in front of the window and waited, and waited, so I pressed the small Receive button on the back and within a minute it moved to the correct time.I don't know if it was a coincidence , but some of these mechanisms will only search between midnight and 5am when electrical interference is less, if it wasn't necessary to start a search then why is there a button ? :-)I will enjoy waking up an hour later this coming Sunday and knowing the clock will be correct.

Very good radio clock movement
When our kitchen clock stopped working i decided to renew the movement with a radio controlled mechanism. I looked on Amazon bought a Win taim atomic clock movement which I installed. It worked for a week or so then the seconds sweep hand kept stopping at 25 to the hour. I checked for sticking hands and all was clear so I sent the item back for an exchange which arrived soon after. I installed this and the same problem occurred so it was sent back for a refund this time. I bought the third movement from Dan's clock shop and that is working well. The item was a little larger than the previous two and had to be fitted 180 degrees out ie upside down but this did not make any difference to the mechanisms opperation.

Love the clock, had a problem that seems to have been resolved thanks to suppliers help.
The media could not be loaded. Replaced a standard quartz mechanism on a clock I made from an old long playing record. The hand length is perfect. Was quite daunted by the negative reviews regarding installation of the hands but, by just being careful, assembly was easy! Soon a silent clock had set itself and has remained spot on time ever since. A great purchase. Original review above.UPDATE! After working fine for a couple of weeks the hour and minute hand have stopped moving, the minute hand is just vibrating constantly instead of shifting every 20 seconds. The second hand is still spot on with the other radio controlled clocks in the same room, but with out the minute and second hand working it was useless. Will attempt to contact seller for information. On advice, followed the instructions, removed and replaced battery. Hands set to the clocks 12:00 which was out. Removed battery and then reassembled hands to 12:00. Put battery in and now clock has found the correct time. Assume all is well if no further updates!
